When would Grunherz learn that past actions do not make it right to do wrong.
If anything, that picture reminds me more how america has changed since then and how they are not behaving at all like they used to.

Hey, most of the people in Cannes gets their money from the government film aids. So naturally they think that there is no life beyond leftist aid-based living. Moore & Co have gotten rich, but that doesent stop them. Left/socialists dont really care who is wealthy and who is not (altough they pretend to care), all they care is if you dont like their flow of taughts.  Their beliefs are based on assimilation, they hate things that they are unable to control, so natural fix for that is (if they ever get to decide) to control everything.

Hmm, Skuzzy is that you? :o

Gunslinger posted from the "France Surrenders Forever" thread, so I'm going to do the same.

Q: Why are French tanks cheaper to build then any others?

A: Because the transmission only has to have a reverse gear!

Ah yes, French bashing - a very popular pastime on this board in months/years gone by. And the French are just expected to lie down and take it.

But oh! if anyone dares to say anything bad about America, woe betide them! Erm... free speech, anybody?

It cracks me up to see America getting so bent out of shape about an "anti-American" film having won an award - in France of all places. Muhahahaha! :rofl

Think of this as the price payable for all that French bashing you guys did. I am in a state of euphoria over this entire deal! :lol

Balance, my boys, balance. ;)

WSFTGISFTG - Gawd, I love that phrase! :aok

Respectfully, you are missing the point.  Indeed we are sensitive to our failures, as I think most people are, regardless of their nation of origin.  Maybe Americans are even MORE sensitive than people of other countries.  Of course, this could be due to the fact that no other nation gets bashed so much, no matter what we do.

The point:  Moore doesn't tell the truth.  He makes fictional movies and calls them documentaries.

Maybe other nations are more willing to admit their mistake in general public and therefore bashing stops short :D

Anyhoo.. French got bashed much more than americans, in a very short time, for their refusal to join the coalition forces in iraq.
US bashing pales in comparison to all that crap thrown at frenchies for such a pitiful reason as participating in war in Iraq.
(french bashing has been lately quieting down ... it isn't a big wonder why  )

Somewhat many americans are also very very keen to call people anti-american for almost anything which is directed against US imago.
Meanwhile I don't recall any frenchies calling americans anti-french other than perhaps sarcastically. :p

Well if that is the case, why so many overheated threads about Moore? If he is so discredited as you suggest, his movie should be like water off a duck's back.  But no. Many people here are getting bent out of shape about it. And last time the NRA tried to have his Oscar rescinded! :lol
