Yea Dok, at the time, had a bad boy persona. I think he came up with the phrase "bite me" :) But he put a whole lot of work into scenarios. He was great for the community.

Talking like this is ancient history - its wierd that was only about 12 years ago (when 386x was a dream machine :D).

Boozer checking in,

Dok flamed me as being one of the first of 1000 dweebs when AW went SVGA and full real came live. I used to be impressed by Axman and JG26 in half-time. I remember htat very first exposure when I was lost on a silly 8 field map.  Went straight to real time and Got trained by Grok. I started spending my time trying to fight Rocketman in his high hog, NB when he wasn't looking, DD in his 38, Merch his low swooping FW... man I miss those days, I miss them a lot.

And even then some of the best I had heard of already retired.

My best times back then  were Saturday mornings, Mute and Popeye on my wings fighting out of 87 with us all playing a 10k alt rule.. I'm pretty sure that's where the "Men of Leisure" name came from, waste a whole saturday...

I outflew DD in one of those con competitions, HE was too drunk and blew a high merge , lol. I thought I had arrived then :)
I used to worship him and all the other high scorers. The guys are still magic in my eyes, I'm one of the first 1000 dweebs. There's so many handles I admired...

So yeah, the world split and I got a trainer slot in AW AOL
Did trainer in gamestorm for a while
Found AH, here the spark is still alive...

Think of your days past and who you really thought highly of. There are some new guys out there today that feel that way now, the magic, the wonder, lets bring them along and encourage them to kill us :)

Was that Axeman the same one who was flying with JG54 in
HT?  Cause he's been showing up in the MA recently :)

Hope you try one soon, BigR!  Have you signed up for the Battle of Britain scenario starting on August 1st?  If not, come along anyway and walk on, you'll be very welcome and I think you will find AH scenarios are as much fun as the AW ones were.  :)

Hmmm You do have a point. Not that I use my perks much.

GrayEagle
Vossman
Ghostrider
Stiletto
DeadDuck
Eyeballs
DokTaGonZo (sp?)

I know some may be deceased (if so my condolences), but just curious if they play anymore. Last time I ran into any of them , the were working for Kesmai. Guess they maxed out the credit
cards and were sold into slavery:eek:

Sorry to name drop, but I am curious.

Did'nt Vossman get a brain tumor or something ?:rofl

heh Ok, got it installed and running. Got my new joystick.

Logged in. Got in a plane. Started the motor and then proceeded to move along the ground unable to turn or take off since the stick wasn't doing anything. Right before I crashed into a hill, boom, I think the map changed. Or I pushed a button and dumped myself. Anyways,,, Whooo! I'm back! And got my orig handle too; Ditch.

Saw COORS,,, anyone know if that's the old COORS who used to fly the P-51 in AW3? Couldn't seem to raise him.
