In addition to the above comments, there are alot more plane managment options in AH.  From which type of armament you want to use, or even fire, to manually selecting what fuel tank you want to draw from.  You can use a feature to automatically trim your plane, or do it manually.  Some former RR players did not enjoy the greater attention that needed to be paid to actually flying the plane.  With your FR background, you'll probably find it adds a greater depth to gameplay.

another exists!  gawd, AOL .

I was "maz".  Didn't fly anything from 96' - 00' though.

Only remember flying for the C country and having one successfull B17 mission with a ton of gunners.  That game rocked - It barely played on my 486

Omg! :o

lol Unbelievable! Flo, Oldma, Zazen, Kappa, Zamo, Grimm, iko and more and more and more. So many great people and squads I know or knew by their reps! And Filth and Jag15, man you guys made that squad into the best online group I've ever been a part of.

heh Filth, I tried to come back after like a year off back then and got frustrated because my skills had degraded so much. Now I think I'm gonna have to start with a jeep and move up.

Zamo, I remember starting out as an annoying sort of flea in the FW-190, then the Spit and then settled down to flying the Hellcat.

And ty to the folks here who took the time to write out some detailed answers! It does sound like AW4 which is good.

Crap, now I gotta go buy a joy stick and a head set. :)

Did anybody here play AW 1x on the Australian server (OzHost) ?

I recall that we had a handful of guys from the USA and Canada, and several from Japan.

To a certain extent yes.
Furball Island (fightertown)in particular With its uncapturable bases set aside for the furball cowd AW had the dead on exact right idea.

Implemented here I think would go a HUGE way in alleviating the moans and groans of both the furballers and the landgrabbers reguardless of map size.

I would love to know the reasoning behind refusing to  impliment such a system here.
To me it makes much more sence then setting things up to force players to play one way or the other.
And with such a system in place everyone gets what they want and no changes have to be made to the strat system.

"arena design and setup."

I agree too, if an  AOL chat room with WWII aircraft as the decore' was what your preference was.

Dunno. I was resonably successful with it in AW andI didnt have too many problems with my AW Yak against  any of the planes in AW.
There were a few pilots however that seemed to have my number no matter what plane I, or they were in.
Yak in AW was by far my favorite ride along with the Vader

I was pretty much at the mercy of any E-fighter when flying the Yak. It was the Zeke of the ETO for me lol.
