duly noted debuman,
I am curious though if you posted as soon as you read that reply or if you followed up and replied after reading this thread to the end........? I went back and explained what I acutally meant, I commend you for discussing the appropriate place for certian people to use this language, although if there are certian places this language is appropriate then is that not saying it is ok to say these things regardless of where you are located or who you are with?  as for classrooms , most if not all students are better mannered, but around the campus/school outside the classroom it is different story, sure other students call out the ones being obscene, even faculity also, but it is nothing like the what shall I say 80's and on back....times have changed, schools are a changing, the behavior of society is changing too...I was trying to give generalized descriptions and not point any individual out, for the reason everyone is different

I did not direct my statement of "raised by heathens" at any one person, I was talking ingeneral, no names......

read 2BigHorn's post, he quoted the decision and stance HTC takes on this issue
"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC

"It's all about choices. There is absolutely no reason to to be vulgar either on vox or 200. "

Amen to that.  I agree wholeheartedly Sax.

And I support Daddog 110%.     IMO, for him to post publicly about a problem meant it must have been very bad indeed.

Swearing on vox or in the text buffer is a ticklish dilemma on how to deal with it. I would venture a guess they (HTC) could hire someone full time to deal with “every” complaint they get, or at least ˝ time. From a business stand point is that wise? I don’t know. Not something they want to do I am sure. Every 10 minutes Skuzzy, Pyro, or Hitech deal with someone who has been a foul mouth jerk online is 10 minutes away from development where we all want to see their time devoted to.

This community over all is quite reasonable, which is one of the reasons I posted this occurrence. In many ways the community will deal with their own, but there are times that HTC does need to step up and deal with individuals. This IMHO is one of those times. Unless of course ZAPP will step up and save them the time and trouble.

I do appreciate the comments many of you have made.

Debuman, I teach also, (Jr. High what a hormone filled crazy age). Most of my kids don’t swear, but they do slip once and a while. To be expected just as we all do as adults. I wish I was just a case of a kid having a good time, but it was an adult who should have known better.

I too asked Zapp to chill out the language over priv. He said he was drunk. And continued.

Horn I done tryed, it is the new generation, they have no clue as to what anyone is talking about when these subjects are mentioned and they never will because they do not want to carry on with traditional things from the past......
We our selves know who we are that has respect, good sportsmanship, degrees of honor and dignity,  when they ever experience these things and get older and wiser they to will be able to look back , reflect on these conversations and then say "yeah  now I get it!" prob twenty years from now or so

until then you , me and the rest of us are just  speaking to a block wall, they are not listening........

Well not all of them. Some get it over time, usually when they crack the nut and take care of business.

I also have a 9 year old son who has an A/H account.
Yes he and I are in daddog's squad as well.

I to support him 110%.

If A/H turns into a cussing, abusive game experance for he an I
then we will leave as well, but I would think that HTC would not let a problem like this start running off all thier paying customers
that would prefer not to listen to it.

Geez, you appear to be an entire truck of clues short of the answer. Perhaps when you start shaving more than once per month, you will start to get it. :)

Why do you need to "put a face on someone" to talk about sportsmanship, or for that matter, respect?

Just because we are separated by distance geographically, we are all part of the online community of AH.  Part of that community includes older children playing or watching their dad, or younger teenagers.  It seems to me that the community will let a frustrated slip of the mouth go, but repeated sailor-talk is not desired.

If you feel you really need to talk like that, at least do it on squad channel, so that everyone on local channel is not forced to hear your tirade until they can squelch you.  This way you show respect for the community of which you are a part.

heya Skull, you ever thought of taking martial arts? judo? karate? kung fu?  if not you should, this would open your mental picture and teach you the values of respect, Honor, sportsmanship, loyalty in all  viewable/thinkable aspects.........all of these do exist in online games, the people that do recognize them most is the people that have been around the longest....for anyone that comes in and becomes a part of the community normally the vets will instill this values into the new members way of thinking, except we can not make certian people understand.  they insist on denying the enevitable, and we are talking about these subjects in regards to this community, not in regards to game play for the most part, all though these values do exist ingame and on these boards....

Now Skull....since you have so much knowledge of knowing what does exist and what does not why don't you gather data or take a poll from everyone in game and on these boards... Then look at the people that says these values do exist  against the ones who say they do not exist.. I guarantee you the ones that say they do are from an era in online gaming you   will never see again in your life, and the ones that say it does not exist are from the FPS games,  or are under 30 yrs of age for the most part, or have only participated in AH as far as online flight sims.......

it is the generation gap for the most part Skull.....these values are a code of ethics or unwritten rules,  that  members like you and others that have the inability to see happening or do not comprehend the meaning so you think it does not exist........as I stated earlier when you become of age if you are so lucky you may begin to understand these values and how these values do exist on these boards and in AH2......
