Zipp, better idea:  Instead of razor blades how about coating the edges of the sign in that blue paint that takes about a month of constant washing to remove?

Mildly more amusing and you won't get arrested.

I hope you're either joking or don't have a family.  Your family won't like it when they lose their house because you had to prove a retarded point.

Just put up a motion detection light and have a facimily of a video recording device if not a real one. If all else fails just make yourself wake up when the light comes on and walk outside with a shotgun. In most cases the use of deadly force to deter theft is justified after dark. Just check with your local authorities first for the word for word justification. :)

Sign stealing is and has been common for years. I always do the same thing when a sign gets stolen from my yard, I put up two more for every one stolen...I have four sings in my yard now and more in reserve.

IMO, I get more satisfaction doing this than if I were to go neanderthal on these kind of criminals.

My mom worked for the RNC as a volunteer in the 60's.  I can remember one morning in '68 when she was FUMING mad!  All her Nixon signs had been replaced with McCarthy signs in our front lawn.  Turned out it was a good friend of my father's who did the deed. He turned himself in to my mother. Everyone got a good laugh, except the kids cause we didn't give a hoot who was pres.

Excellent idea Swoop. Eagler has the correct position as well. Martlet, you are over the top as usual. Why not use Claymores around your perimiter to prevent trespassers?
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

I doubt it would be assult, its very similar to people who sink steel rods into concrete and then attach their mail box too it. Some kid comes by and tries to hit it with a bat and blamo, bat shatters and does a number on the kids hand.

I remember I was out having fun with some friends once, we decided to grab a for sale sign and move it down a few houses. Well I jump out of the car and went to the grab the sign as I was running. The plan was too just pull it out as I went by it so I didnt have to stop. Well this bad boy was sunk into the ground and was not going anywhere, next thing I know im laying on my back and I thought I had pulled my arms out of the sockets. haha good times, I give kudos too the people who put that one in the ground.

BTW, my Bush sign was stolen Saturday night by some liberal scum of the earth. I am getting a new one tomorrow. I plan to surround it with piles of presents from my two 135 pound Malamutes so that there is no way some SOB can get to it without stepping in my dogs little presents. I can't wait till they steal this one and get half way down the road in their car before they smell the sweetness from my little puppies.

Even better to prevent the mailbox baseballers.....

Take a very large mailbox and a small mailbox and a bag of Quikrete concrete.  Remove the door from the small mailbox and put it inside the large one and leave a gap all the way around to fill up with the concrete.  You dont have to leave the gap all the way around......just the sides and top.  Let dry and place on post on your street.  Sit back and watch the kids try to beat that one up.  Its like hitting a brick wall with an aluminum bat in the winter time when you dont have a good grip on the handle.  :)

I have 5 poster signs, a few for backup, ready for construction. I’m placing double edged razor blades at key points where someone would grab the sign. I have them well placed and somewhat “hidden”. Paying close attention and you’ll see them with no problems. Doing a drive by and yanking it in the middle of the night though; well, that might cause a bit of skin to break open. "

why not just put em in your windows? or better yet, anchor the sign to a nearby tree.

Cause it's only trespassing if they aren't welcome.  I don't care if people come on my land.

It's good to see you're still condoning criminal behavior, though.
