Eskimo,

I had my son cut when he was born for 2 reasons.....cleanliness, and because his dad was.

1.  I don't know how many kids you have but when they are in diapers the watermelon ends up EVERYWERE.  Cleaning off the willy is bad enough let alon having to clean "in and out"

2.  I was told by a good friend that it's best for son's to match their dads, it makes it better for the two to relate.  It doesn't make much sense now that I think about it but it did the way she said it...

I agree with the cleanliness, seems nasty to me not to have it done.

I've been snipped since i was born. So I don't have any experience other wise. But my first kid was snipped at birth, and the new addition Due Feb 14 will also be snipped.

Cleanliness isn't an issue. Girls have things that get much dirtier, in case you haven't noticed. And, uh, foreskins have worked for the vast majority of humans, and their ##s haven't fallen off (most of the time).

You know, that's an impressive array of sense organs and nerves down there. Circumcision does decrease sensitivity and pleasure. If you doubt me, feel free to google it.

For most males, there's no medically sound reason to circumcise. And if there is a medically sound reason to do so, it's not, as NB found out, impossible to circumcise later in life.  Later-in-life circumcisions don't entail the same loss of sensitivity, but the circumcisee does know what he's missing.

Your doctor said that? What an idiot.

He's got 20 something years of experience in medicine... How much do you have?

I'm assuming none, so go ahead and google phimosis and find out the various effects of this condition. Then, after you've enlightened yourself, you may resume generating opinions.

In the meantime, stick to topics you know; for example, which imaginary weapon is best for killing imaginary enemies in the latest installment of your favorite first-person-shooter.

gixer is from new zealand where they are privy to things that Americans can't understand.  I thought it was just power, politics and economics.... now it seems that medicine is an area that they surpass us in too.

And to think... before this, I hardly even heard of new zealand.

not that I really want to talk about this but I don't see how removing a loose piece of skin decreases your sensativity.

And yes cleaning out a kids wang after he chat in his diaper is a PITA.

That being said, circumcision is never a bad idea. Even for people without the problem that I had, it is far more sanitary to not have foreskin. Somethings just don't have much use on our bodies. The appendix and the tailbone are two other examples.

Nudebob,
I had my own problems when I was born...when they circumsized me I lost half my body weight :D

Well removing foreskin to help prevent cancer he must be an idiot. That's old school stuff and from more religious reasons then anything else..  Ask any other doctor if your now safer from cancer because you had your foreskin removed.
