nothing to do with a right any animal has. That act is no different than any other fed regulation regarding any industry.

It's just a law for humans to follow.

No animal has legal rights. How many lawyer study animal rights law in hopes of representing animals in court?

EPA, OSHA, or SEC regulations exist in order to protect the rights of humans to live, work, and invest safely.

You could treat animals cruelly and still live, work, and invest safely. The AWA exists in order to provide minimum standards for animal welfare.

why bother protecting a living something if it doesnt have rights? as far as i can tell, most animals have more rights in america than terrorists...wether the rights are "official" or not does not matter.

We have laws protecting plants, forests, rocks and land.....do they have legal rights?

Semantics... If I neglect an animal, I pay a legal price. If I neglect my car, it is my business.

Both the car and the animal are property, but they are treated differently.

So you tell me why if I neglect a car I do not get into trouble, I neglect a horse and I go to jail.

There is a difference, a legal difference, on how I neglect my property. Neither act of neglect effects anyone other than me, yet I pay a different price.
