Been by Bindlach before.  What did you guys call it the "Rock" or something?  It's gone now.  Closed after the cav left.  Amberg too.

Bamberg still has troops.

Yep called it the "Rock".  Was like doing Hard Time. Old Luftwaffe Airbase.  You guys covered North of us on the DDR....

When were you there? Hell we may have talked to each other on radio before...

I was there '86 ~ '89.

Yes. Wasn't there long. After the fun in the sandbox and the drawdown, ended up in Illesheim. After being in Stuttgart and Nuernberg, Illesheim is quite a letdown ;)

Great, in the winter we would have snowball fights with GAKS.  Would mess with them, dog whistles at 3am.

Was it quiet on the CZ border?

Best Buddy of mine was there also...a Crew Chief in a AVN BN out of Frankfurt.  Hell we had been stationed in the same places in Korea and Germany, then back to Korea... He flys in here also. Mutt01.

Were you Warrant or Enlisted?

Enlisted here  was E6 then made E7 in FRG.

Mac.
