Its Bill the cat from that cartoon with the penguin.  Bloomsomething.  Not important.  What is important is how little you contribute to every thread you post in.  I'm sick of reading your self-absorbed crap and watching you pat yourself on the back with smilies.  Christ.

Anyways, I agree, Red Storm Rising was the best I've read on the scenario.  I actually thought the F-19 "Ghostrider" or
"Frisbee" was an actual plane while reading it.  Turns out he got the F-117 pretty much on the dot, if not for the physical description.

If you liked "Red Storm Rising" you'll probably enjoy Larry Bond's "Red Phoenix".  He's the coauthor of "Red Storm Rising".  He's also the guy who gave us the game "Harpoon".

Ah yes, very true.  Could the -117 be loaded out for a mission to destroy AWACS?  I know its strictly a light bomber, but how would it fair against airborne/ground based radar in an interception reason?  Purely hypothetical.

(I read it at least three times too!)

Should not be impossible to modify it for that. Just maybe a HARM could take out an AWACS that did not se it comming or did any evasive action if it was fired at from the rear.

I dunno... pure speculation. I dont know if  the HARM or sidewinder can be dropped out of a bombbay with a delayed engine egnition. Maybe there even is some kind weapons ramp in the bombbay of the 117 that drops down and out of the bay so that missiles can be fired that dos not have a delayed engine egnitoion type launch.

War between NATO and warsaw pact forces would've started with nuclear strikes. It would not have culminated to it.
