We could always do a USA vs the World scenario in aces high.

the start EST vs GMT start times would be the biggest battle :)

No, it's not about the Iraq war... but Iraq's a good example of what newguy was talking about. When those Iraqis finally go to vote for their own democratic government, what European country's soldiers other than England and Poland will be there in force to help them and protect them?

That'd be ............. none. Don't think the other non-democratic don't notice.

A war between the USA and Europe would not be winnable. Nuclear wars rarely are.

Gotta laugh at that one in light of what most EU countries spend on defense.

Give us a few years, we'll have Starwars up and running... (and you won't) and your ICBM's.... oh... wait...  you don't have any of those....

Well, we'll have a bunch of F-22's waiting for your intercontinental bombers.. oh... wait... you don't have any of those either.

Our military will be finally home waiting on the beaches for your invasion fleets.... oh....wait... you don't have any of those either.

It's highly unlikely any EU country will pay to build that stuff to any degree.

Anyway, thanks for the smiles, though! It must be a kewl dream for you. Maybe you could team up with the Dutch and kick our rears.

The reality is that most Euros and most Americans KNOW we'll never fight each other as you speculate.

It's only the tinfoil guys meeting secretly in the lead lined rooms over there that dream about it IMO.

If you're thinking the US and the Brits will ever fight each other, you should sell the stuff you're smoking. You'll be rich.

Just ain't gonna happen.. duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude. Us and the Brits... we're like..... joined at the hip.

The French? Well... I don't think we really consider them a threat. You really think they'll swap Paris and every other city over 25,000 population in France for a few US cities? Nah, they'll think about, shrug and light another Gauloise and forget about it.

Definitely, if you think the Brits and the US are ever going to fight each other militarily.

Most definitely if you think the French would fight the US for any reason. They're WAY too smart for that. They might let you frisky Norsk, Swedes and Finns start it and watch you get driven into the ground like tent pegs and then come take all your women. THAT might happen.

I guess I don't think you're having fantasies... I think you're just delusional. It won't ever happen and if you were foolish enough to start it you'd lose. Period. Just look at your defense budgets.. and those will continue to shrink.

Anyways, I see you're running back to the British again Benedict. Old habits die hard.

Nope; we never left them. Proud of it too. Look at the aftermath of the wars we did fight with them; best buddies again in no time. Most of us see the Brits as "us"... they just have a funny accent and live kinda too far to come for Thanksgiving.

Not saying that that chart is wrong, just saying Wow!, that's peculiar.
Wonder what the hell they spend it all on?  We are still using F-111s, FA/18As, Hueys, Caribous, M113 tin cans and Leopard II tanks.

Mebbe Steyr Augs and Jellybean camo cost a lot to make?

Old systems cost alot to maintain sometimes ....anyhow those new Tigers/Aegis destroyers cost plenty, and eventually the cost of running those M-1 Abrams will be soaking up plenty of the armys budget

Actually, I just did a quick Google on Aussie mil spending, and it appears that you are pretty much on the mark there Tronski....new destroyers and frigates, new attack hellicopters, some new missile system and the Jindalee radar setup are what soaks up most of the funds., along with ongoing upgrades on the Hornets, Chinooks, Hueys and Blackhawks.

"Oh and your food sucks !"

I think he was talking about our lovely choice of food in the UK.

I'd just like to say thanks for the cuisine of the USA!

"McDonalds! KFC:rolleyes: Soggy thin Pizzas:rolleyes: "

Many many thanks

:rofl

I'll take the roast beef and yorkshire pud, the great fry up and some luverly fish and chips please.

(Then I'll have to live on salad fior the rest of the year so I don't end up looking like a supersizer!)

Oh yea I recall all the conversations I have had with friends where we wanted to go to dinner together.

"Hey guys lets go get some Brit food"

OK, raise your hands if your favorite "out for dinner" place serves Yorkshire pud ?

:rofl

don't forget them deep dish plates so that your breakfast can swim in 1/2" of grease.   I had fish and chips there and they were worse than long john silvers fast food is here.   the best thing I found about brit food was that there wasn't any.... every resteraunt I seen had a different foreign theme.

mechanic... do you or don't you think that the US will have to destroy the next euro tyrant?

iirc, Long John Silver's uses an Alaskan fish that is odorless & tasteless. All the "flavor" is in the batter. Personally, I stick to the chicken planks.
