Nilsen got me thinking... Mine were by and large "gedunk" awards:

Navy Meritorius Unit Commendation
 Navy E Ribbon (x2)
 Navy Good Conduct Medal (x2)
 National Defense Service Medal
 Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal
 Navy Sea Service Deployment (x3)

What does the one look like that you get after your turn in the barrel?
Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain

Is this going to be a smartass-free thread? Wavering here on if I should follow Martlet's brave lead. :)

Sandman, you do yourself a disservice calling those 'gedunk' awards. Those awards represent you giving up a lot of freedom in the service of something bigger than you. You know as well as I do that often times hard work isn't noticed until it isn't performed and something breaks down as a result.

I'm betting he bribed someone to get that award. That, or he had an 'off the books' doctor in his employ. :)

Wulfie, Sandman would get his bellybutton kicked if still “serving” in the Navy. Liberal ******* that try to divide American public support for their own political agendas, right or wrong, learned nothing about duty, country, or military service. Like this thread.

I’m now supposed to think his opinion is now valid? Contrary, he won nothing, served the minimum, and jacks off on the BBS against the commander in chief. No wonder he opted early out. No respect for himself, but what about the military?

Um, I only served 10 years, and part of that was in college.  Am I a schmuck too?

Martlet I am serious when I ask that is the STD free medal really for being free of STD's or by some luck those letters are actually standing for something else.
