Here's a list after nearly 15 years of service.  Sorry, no pictures.  Ordered highest to lowest with one or two possibly out of order due to not having most current data available.

Air medal (2)
Aerial Achievement medal
Air Force Commendation medal (2)
AF outstanding unit award with valor device (3 plus "V")
AF Organizational excellence ribbon
Combat Readiness medal
National defense service medal (2)
Armed Forces expeditionary medal
GWOT expeditionary service medal
AF Longevity Service (3)
Small Arms Expert Marksmanship ribbon (2, M-16 and M-9)
AF Training Ribbon

Some of those are for actually doing something other than just showing up for work.  For example, I'm pleased that I've shot "expert" in every firearm I've been trained in (M-16, M-9, and the old .38 revolvers) and I have never shot less than "expert" in a graded shoot.  I know it's only the AF course and not the more challenging navy or army courses, but on my last M9 qual I put 39/40 in the circle, missing a perfect score by about half an inch on one shot I pulled badly.  All 40 still hit the paper of course, but I'm still pissed about that 'cause I know EXACTLY what happened and what I did wrong, and on every shot but that one I consciously avoided that error.

Anyone care to guess what the error was?  Hint - It was during the last "over the barrier" sequence.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

Jeez, I'd have to go dig out my records. I know I got the Air Medal three times and some others. Old history now.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

if theres a ribbon for being a loser id post them.

I was just curious to see why such things are awarded. i always considered medals or ribbons to be given for serious and important stuff...but for good conduct? I just dont understand :)

the STD ribbon was a joke.  It's the same thing as a good conduct.  It is pretty much a joke, but it does mean something I guess.  It means you toed the line and did your job, or at least didn't get caught, for four years.

Just about the most pointless thread evar. I don't even bother to do anything with awards anymore, just toss the certificates into the box with the rest and throw the medals into my high speed Nike display box. Not a one of em has ever done anything for me except force me to break out a ruler to line it up on my uniform. But by all means, thump away.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not bitter, I just don't see the point here.

Exactly. You don't see the point.

The point is to share experiences, not thump chests.

Thanx for playing. You too, Creamo. You guys are real sports.

But you're not posting experiences, you're posting lists of awards that half these people have no clue about. Telling everyone you got the Bronze **** without any background is pointless and isn't "sharing experiences."

There's a bit of dialogue that has begun because of it. Don't share. We won't ask why or how you got the awards that you don't care about.

As I get older, I become more proud of mine.  Most of them have a story behind them, and if they don't, they at least bring back memory or two.

I think I'll go dig out my DD214 tomorrow and post the rest of them.  Even if they don't mean anything to you guys, they still have a lot to say.
