does flying a very fast plane make you a cherry picker or is it just that the cherry pickers all naturaly pick the really fast planes?

Cherry pickers love the new more timid MA with it's horde mentality and circle jerk around a capped field gameplay.

Cherry pickers love the maps with the fields farthest apart.

Ah this crap happens to me all the time, from my countrymen and from the enemy.

I was in a great dogfight with a P-47N, we had each other smoking, it was a great joust.  Suddenly some Barbie Pink Spit16 with "I love Ken" on the wings pops me in the midst of my joust with the 47N.  He PM's me an apology saying he too enjoyed the fight til it was interupted.

And with my own guys, I'll be engaging with a con and they decide to join in, even tho I call out Im OK and dont need the help.  Grrr.

What can ya do...some pilots are putzes.  They think they are saving you when in actuality, you're just fine as you are.

Nah, my best story so far is this.

I hooked up with Wotan and we decided to fly a few sorties in LW stuff.  So We both upped 190a8s.  We are flying around and we run into this Spit 16 about co alt with us.  Well, there are 2 of us and 1 of him, so we figure wth, and engage.  We were playing it pretty careful, but after a minute or so we had him boxed in.  Another 30 seconds or so and he would have been killed by one of us, cause he was slow and on the deck.

Right about then I notice a friendly who (predictably) was flying around an La-7 HOing everything in sight headed our way.  He notices our Spit slow and on the deck, and immediately turns to make a pass.  Of course, the Spit has nothing to lose, so he turns into the friendly el gay.

So the El gay comes boring in on the Spit, so I get on range and yell "Take the shot XXXXX, don't let him get away!".  Then the el gay rams the spit, and dies.  I am pretty sure the spit died to though.

But I thought it was hilarious :).

Well, unless *your* salute means "Hey, *******!" it is still a sign of respect, no?

Ok, just last night a LA7 and his buddies were killing us pretty good. So, I even the odds and parked the P51 and upped a SpitXVI, (didn't have time to gain ALT and speed). Here he come for more kills,(his friends had left so he was alone) we fought, it was a good fight and I managed to win. No, he didn't salute me nor I him. What he did do was get a new LA7 and come back only this time there was two of us waiting. He followed the 109 up and I followed the LA up, filled him full of 20mm. Once again no salute... (was that a cherry pick or just a nice set up??) Ok fine. LA returns, this time there is three of us and he dies quickly. A squad buddy made short work of him, it was some good flying on my friends part cause he got the kill before anyone could get over to help. Once again no Salute.... The LA driver was a good stick too, everyone reconized his name.

So what's my point.  Well, lets just say that I have NEVER been saluted for a good fight or a good cherry pick etc etc. So if your getting Saluted and it get's your panties in a bunch I suggest you switch to decaf. Chill dude, and accept the complement.

The archetypical example of the cherry pick would be two cons engaged, your friendly is losing and about to be destroyed, you dive in and save him by destroying his opponent.

and this is how Zazen gets 99% of his kills, and thats why he advocates this style of gameplay.

I always salute a good fight, and if a guy picks me and salutes, I assume he thought I was doing a good job against his buds up to that point. So I salute back. Its when you salute a good fight and you dont get a reply thats kinda cheezy. But then I tell myself they must not be tuned to 200. Then I see them type later on 200, and smile.
