In responce to all the threads about perking the LA/Nik/Spit Series etc ive come up with my own suggestion...

This sytem would work like our current ENY, except all aircraft would still be flyable, they would just be limited, the more so for lower eny...

ex- 250 players logged on....ENY kicks in and only 30-40 LA's, Niks, ect. are available...If all slots are filled for the aircraft when a player tries to up the LA he would get the "unable to fly" message...His choices would be to either wait in tower and hope to try and up at the right time right after one of the already airborne LA's dies or towers, or he would simply be forced to fly a higher ENY plane with less of a #'s restriction?

i dunno...its late

The planes aren't the issue so much as that which gets recognition in the arena.

Regardless of how they're shot down, folks notice the "so and so landed 14 kills in an LA7 of the 'Vulchers are Us' Squadron", followed by a chorus of "attaboys" from the crowd.  Landing a bunch of kills for your 'attaboy' is what becomes the drug for the crowd.  As long as that is the measuring stick for recognition, the crowds will fly what they think will allow them to Ho, vulch and escape.

Personally I could care less what the other guy is in at this point.  But then again if I can survive actual air to air fights and land a couple halfway earned kills now and then, I figure I'm doing OK.

I'd prefer that what I fly is my choice and I'd have a hard time with someone else dicating my choices.   I'll probably be in a P38G for the going to their place for a fight and a Spit 8 to defend my place, but again it's my choice as I have fun in those birds.

If the other guy wants an LA7 that bad or a Spit 16, so be it.

I still say unperk em all and let the AH gods sort em out.

I am trying to ween myself off the 7, landing 14 kills a sortie is getting embarasing.

I agree and will add this.  why not form a squad of like minded players, up at prearranged times and hunt the vultching HO runner tards in their planes of choice?  that is to say everyone involved is in the ride of their choice be it 109G2 in my case or PG in yours.  I would bet that four guys who knew their preferred rides well could put down a fair number of the current crop of MA players irrespective of their choice of plane, provided they had a little friendly support with the inevitable pigpile that soon occurs once the tardling starts frantically squawking for help as he runs for dear life.

I think you have a great idea but then again even though i feel theres a huge uneven proportion of those planes around and i thought that's what the perking was done for, to keep certain equipment even and in check which is obviously not happening. I still don't want to limit what plane someone would fly, i have no right to do that, i think if you buy the game you should be able to fly any plane in the inventory if you really love it so i'm torn, but very interesting idea.

I also don't understand the logic of hunting planes on the ground. I will fly over airfields when planes are taking and purposefully won't shoot at them untill they takeoff or have gained enough e to do something i feel like a heel, and to me it's just not fun doing so. To me the game is getting into a nice fight with someone and winning or losing, that's fun

What about the pilots that land 6-10 kills regularly and don't HO, vulch, and escape.

What planes are they landing those kills in is what i would ask you?

If they are landing them in a HurriMKI,or any early war planes  then my hat is off too them.

If they are landing them in all late war planes then oh well.

1 thought I had was more in the way of how the ENY system works for the # of players per side.

The more of type (A) plane there are up and flying in the arena total, the more the perk value go's up on said plane, to say a max of no more than 20 to 25 perks, about the same as the F4U-4 and when the # drops back down they cost less untill they are free once again. This would allow us to spend perks and still allow the new guys to fly them free or cheep depending on how many were in the air at the time.

All the normal perk planes would stay the way they are.

It was just a thought I had when I saw I had near 5000
(I know some of you have many more)
fighter perks and started looking at perk rides to fly..... Not much of a selection... I don't like the 262 so there go's one of the biggest perk burners right off the bat, I love the F4U-4 but it looks like I could up 220 of them in a row befor I ran out of perks and even though I like flying it I don't want to fly it that much :)

I guess I'm just saying it would be nice to actually have something to spend the perks on other than the what 6 or so perk planes we have even if it were the so called non perked uber rides... Besides I feel so dweeby if I up an LA-7 or a Spit-16 I wouldn't feel so dweeby if I had spent something for them.:)

Besides just think We could all up spit 1's and for the first time in AH history give it a perk price. :D
