Remember when Forged papers might have worked?
« on: May 27, 2006, 10:00:13 AM »
I'm not sure if many of you have been following the Jesse Macbeth  story but it just got more interesting.  The milblogs are basically owning this guy for goin on an  anti war video as a vet claiming to have taken part in and seen many attrocities committed.

Basically the Army came out and said that Macbeth had never served as a ranger, nor special forces.  Friday, somone posted his "DD214" on myspace to try and validate his story....even though the video he appeared in at peacefilms.org was removed on the 23rd.  Even IVAW (iraqi vets against the war) has started to distance themselves from this guy.  (it should be noted I support anyones right to protest and respect their opinion based on the merit of message and the conduct of their actions)

Ok on to the latest and greatest.  Can you spot the problems with these discharge papers:

It would all be pretty laughable if it wasn't for the sickening comments he's made about the army.  AAn Army Ranger BBS basically tears the fake apart.

here's another good summary of the story.  Check out his "picture" in BDUs and ranger baret.

If what is written on the DD214 was true, he would have enlisted when he was 16, and gotten into the rangers when he was 18.  Of course, that is assuming he JUST GOT OUT.

"Fake but accurate"
Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I guess when you think you know the truth no lie is too brazen to prove it.

I know what faux means and I know that "fair and balanced" is the motto of Fox News. What I don't get is how "fake but accurate" reminds straffo of "fair and balanced". The phrases may sound a bit similar but how are they similar in meaning? Like I said, must be an inside joke.

The French word "faux" means fake of imitation.  In French it is pronounced "foe" ... mispronounced in english, it says "fox"

Making fun of names is one of the most advanced forms of rhetoric.
