Stop by the TA one weeknight. Look for me or Murdr. Either of us can show what the 109F is capable of. You pick any plane, fly against the 109F, then switch planes. This will really show you how capable that little monster is.

While it has some weaknesses, it's strengths are such that a Spit16 driver should avoid a prolonged fight against it... If you can't get angles immediately, disengage and bug out. Trying to out-turn the 109F would be in vain. In fact, it isn't even close. Moreover, the 109F is pretty able in the vertical too.

I've been flying the 109F quite frequently as well.  In terms of gunnery, just tap the trigger until you get a positive gun solution.  The guns are really not as bad as one might think, possibly due to the close convergence.  My best flight I had 4 kills before running out of cannon rounds.  I had a 3-kill flight with nearly 100 cannon rounds left but had to bug out due to damage.  I'd avoid buffs, as they suck up your ammunition like a sponge.  Wings are good targets to hit - especially as your foe foolishly pulls up into the vertical thinking he can outclimb you.  A quick squirt, and that sucker will fall right off.

I am aware of this. However, he may be unfamiliar with this aircraft, and i am simply giving him advice with this particular type based on my experience.

Since this is a 109F thread, I was wondering if anybody has original specs or performance charts of that aircraft.
Have been trying to find stuff on the 109, but the only proper I have is 109G running on 1.42 ata.
109E would be appreciated as well ;)
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

I was there, it seems someone can't tell the time.  1830 GMT means 6:30 PM Greenwich Mean Time.  Not 6:30 AM.
