Those are the names that were given to the 109. "Fritz" was given to the 109 by the Spaniards for the license built 109. "Fritz" was NOT used to identify or call out German manufactured 109's.

The German phonetic code for that time period:
A=Anto
B=Bruno
C=Cäsar
D=Dora
E=Emil
F=Fritz
G=Gustav

It really does not rub me the wrong way when someone calls it the Fritz, when all it litterally means in phonetic is the "F".

Those that I listed are what the Germans called the 109's. Sorry. That is in NO LESS than 20 books that I have. I didn't even try google. The F is a Friedrich in terms of the 109, NOT Fritz. If one pilot called it a Fritz, I ain't counting it, if you get my drift.

You all have confused the various phonetic alphabets into some weird hybrid.

F = Friedrich; Fritz is shorthand for Friedrich aka Richard = Dick.
C = Cäsar
K= Kurfürst
