Presently I have 325Ci -05 and if I just had money I would instantly swap it to new 335i coupe.

The new one looks really "new" compared to dated e46 look which is nice but ...dated..? (98 desing)

The new 3 liter twinturbo is just the best bang for the buck even compared to V8 NA engine.... wait a ½ year and there are tons of tweaking chips and pulleys and intercoolers for that and its much more cheaper to get horsepower out of turbo engine than from naturally aspirated. Also smaller engine keeps the MPG at acceptable level. Here in Finland one liter of 95-oct (comparable to 91 - 93 there) costs around 1.4€ so when the car uses 14€ worth of gas for 100 km it starts getting expensive..

but if you have money to buy the car you wont be whining about gasoline prices..(well equipped 335i here around 80k€--->96k$ or so...)

Masher .. I've owned two Camaro's .. a red '69 SS 396 4-gear car, (which I sold a week after I bought it to someone who offered me 3 times what I paid for it) ..and a '96 Z-28 ..both were ok cars .. fun.

Not as much fun as my '64 Malibu with the tunnel-ram L-88 and 4-gear.
Not as much fun as my '67 Hemi GTX 4-gear car.
Not as much fun as my Duster.

I don't get any heartburn over civics, beemers, whatever :)

I owned and raced an '87 CRX in Gymkhana (blowin thru cones in a parkin lot on a saturday afternoon was a blast) ..C-stock class .. placed 2nd.

One fine day had a beemer on my bumper tryin to follow me thru some twisties up near San Jose .. he ate the guardrail .. hard.
I didn't. -evil grin- .. CRX cornered very well.

Friend of mine owned a 7-series beemer.. loved it .. his wife scraped a wheel on a curb the other day ...*cough* .. 3500 to replace the wheel. Coupla months ago a rock broke one of his fog lights .. er .. 1500 for that.
The honeymoon was over, he traded it on a Nissan Pathfinder.

Not gonna buy a beemer, mercedes, audi, ..frankly the german version of Chevy (which those are) are 'nice' cars, but .. not as much fun to drive as what I enjoy driving.

What I would like to do now .. is get a vette ..an tweak it a bit.
for fun. ... prolly *ruin* it according to a purist .. but .. it will be fun to drive.

Carpeted Garage? Sounds interesting but I can't imagine the kind of steamcleaner you'd need to keep it looking good.

Tiles, inho, are prettier, more durable and easier to clean. Besides, all the rich kids are doing it.

BMWs are nice, I almost got one, having had one quite a few years back.

Then they came out with that darned new Stang.

Well, those just look so good in Red.

I haven't enjoyed driving a car this much in years.

Problem is, Now I'm looking at the Roush....

GE you would have liked my 72 Ranchero  429CJ 640HP, I don't care how much you stuff into a ricer, you just cannot duplicate the feel of a built V8.

Show me a ricer with 640hp and I'll show you an oversized handgrenade on wheels. The engine life on something that blown must be pathetic.

Want rediculous power, looks and, uh affordability (well, not so much), there simply is no substitute. Apparently, past 100mph, this thing can edge out the mighty 1001 hp Veyron, and for less than half the price!

yassir there are some nice toys out there :)

Imagine that 429 in a '63 falcon? ..'65 stang 2+2? ..heck even a '70 mach 1? -evil grin-

That's what I enjoy doin.

I am soo lookin forward to doin another project car :) .. with luck I will start in December (near Christmas time) .. with a car purchase.

The newer vette's can be tweaked with bolt-ons very well.. under nine second quarter mile times are mind blowing for a daily driver ..and nothin stickin out the hood :)

The older vettes beg for a 6-71 out the hood and as much Rat motor as you can get under it :) Tubbed, dana 60 an coil-overs, huge stickies in back an mayhap wheelie bars would serve notice to the fart carts ..this american dinosaur will T-Rex yer Honda, dood :)

Oh that 429 in a Falcon!  Now that would be something sweet lol

I wanted an older Boss stang so bad, but everything I could find has been hotrodded or rusted out so bad it's not worth it.  So I got a new one, chickened out lol Don't have the time right now for a project, passed up a 68 Stang Coupe at the first of the year, Great Price, but the rust, Man I can do anything to a car but I Hate Rust!!

The Mach 1 is the Last mustang I have liked until the new ones.  That car just has Monster written all over it.  My brother in law has a 71 Mach, and it's really in great shape, but it's just not right.  That body is when they all went wrong.  Its a great car, but it just isn't a stang.

hehe, side note, here's some fun if you get bored.

Back just out of high school, bout 81, my friends Mike, Chris and I took a 302 out of a pickup, and torched apart a 1968 Datsun Picup Looked like this

He had the 67 Goat, I had the Ranchero, other friend Chris had the 56 Ford F150.

Cut the firewall out, cut the floor pan mostly out, and stuffed the 302 in her.  Strapped on a shortened 9" rear end with a pair of 50s on the back, and the 4 speed out of the truck.  Had to sit kind of side saddle in it so you could work both pedals, which were heated and bent out of the way so they'd work.

Took 1 whole week to rip and rebuild that truck.   We pulled it out onto the street one friday night after a few bottles of courage, I Lost the bet so had to take the first drive in it.

By the time I hit 4th gear, the tires had all but melted off and I was still pretty much near the driveway.

Took it back as it was Totally out of control and nearly impossible to drive.  So, we torched some more and put an automatic on it lol  that helped, a little.

Oh the good old days of being a country boy with Nothing else to do.
