See Rule #5

If you are going to start a thread, then add something other than a cut-n-paste.  It is considered a troll otherwise.

It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

OK here, wait some clarafication 1st.

The author of this article paints with a pretty wide brush!

I do NOT consider anyone that post to, or reads this BBS to be included as such.

It is offered as a POSSIBLE reason athiest get the reaction they do.

http://mensnewsdaily.com/2006/10/10/marxist-subversion-and-perversion-of-americas-youth/

discussion?

AND PLEASE I DO MEAN DISCUSSION!!!!

This is intended as food for thought and NOT an ATTACK on athiest or anyone else.

And please avoid bringing any of the article over here!  Skuzzy has a VALID point!! that article may be copyrighted!!!!

That's a seriously deranged article, up there with the nonsense coming from the ayatolahs or the taliban. That woman by writing it and you by helping spread it are doing a disservice to the very cause you claim to support.
I'm an atheist. I don't dislike most Christians and see good in most of what they do. But the kind of evil stupidity displayed in that pamphlet incenses me.

Well, this Athiest only cares for one groups perception of my choice, those who insist on knocking on my door trying to sell their snake oil of a religion.

I reserve a special hello just for these folks that they will remember and tell their friends about.

I give the same treatment too, but with a bit more animation in my gestures, republican canvasers.

SIR..........

Why?

1st thought in my mind was why would someone expressing they are a athiest say anything different then say an agnostic, muslim, budhist, hindu, christian, or whatever...................

Figured Shuffler was going for humor..........

So my 1st reaction was to see it as humorus.

Then it occurred to me perhaps he was serious.  I see no "humor" or "sarcasm" or "serious" marks or indicators for post on this BBS or any other i've ever looked at.  Have you?  So I asked a question.

So how is it odd?

Hope you have the ability to discuss this article.

I see repeated post by you that seem to express you are against religion.

I also see post by you that seem to express presecution of athiest.

I have offered something that perhaps can help us see one another viewpoints better.

I don't think it will go anywhere if this is made personal.

I don't KNOW you.  I only know of you by your post.  I am unable to see your face, or your body language, or hear the tones in your voice.  Tools we all use in communicating are lacking here.

I find the post made by you are often interesting, and often worthy of discussion.

SADLY, from the methods used by you in your post, I've come to hold the impression that discussion is NOT what you seek.

If I'm incorrect then perhaps now would be a good time to show me?

Quite a bit of analysis of a couple words.  It read like the thought of shooting an atheist made you want to "LOL", that was interesting.

With respect, I don't expect a productive conversation with you, and I'm excercising my right to sit back and let you build your straw man argument unassisted.  Best regards, and I hope that you'll eventually reconsider the role of religion as pertains to stomping on us lil' ol' unbelievers.

Hmm...............

So that is how you see the article?

Please keep in mind I neither agree nor disagree.............

I posted the article for discussion.

The impression I get is you do not even wish to discuss it?

Questions......

Spreading?  You are claiming that by posting this I'm spreading?  So is that what others are doing on this BBS spreading things?

Refusal to see anothers views?  Do you truely believe that by refusing to even look at the other persons views will make them go away?  That those views will cease to exist?

Up there with the taliban?  With the ayatolahs?  I SAW NO CALL for the death of anyone?????????????????????????

Did I miss something in the article?  Please point it out if I did!

"But the kind of evil stupidity displayed in that pamphlet incenses me."

Evil?  Stupidity?  Please explain this portion of your post.  AND PLEASE KEEP in mind that just because you call it such does NOT mean others see it as so.   Others COULD see the article as combating evil and stupidity.

Becoming incensesed can make it difficult to think clearly.  Please overcome you emotions on this and reply AFTER thinking it through.

Also please keep in mind that your justification for saying such will only HELP your stance!

I LOL'd at the irony of this statement:

Wouldn't want athiests corrupting the choir boys would we :D

Not trying to build anything but a discussion.  So far I don't see discussion happining I see mostly hostility?

Trying to keep it non-personal.

I see someone claiming the article is evil and stupid but no real justification put forward for such a claim.  Please keep in mind I'm not agreeing or disagreeing.

Actually the article does paint with a pretty BROAD brush.

I think however that the possibilty that some people SEE such as a possibilty, that some have expressed the view that the traditional family is going away, perhaps should not be ignored?

Would you care to address that?
