It's been said we have three brains, one cobbled on top of the next. The stem is first, the reptilian brain; then the mammalian cerebellum; finally the over developed cerebral cortex.  They don't work together in awfully good harmony - hence ax murders, mobs, and socialism.

the writer of above linked text is an extremist, a christian one - seems to live in a very small world, roughly the same world as every extremist (religious, national, etc), filled with fear, denial, ignorance and hatred.

the article itself cannot be taken serious in any way. i do respect subjectivity in most cases - but this is worse than the messiest UFO-report. my greatest fear is that actually someone believes in such things (takes loads of ignorance and denial). :p

True, many groups in the 20th century who could be characterized as atheist actively supressed religion in their countries.  True, communism as a doctrine does disavow religion and claims that it is part of the 'evil' world they are trying to tear down.

Just because a communist may be an atheist does not mean an atheist is a communist.  Just because many atheists tend to be leftists or left leaning doesn't mean it is a prerequisite.  I know die hard conservatives who speak more hatefully of religion than I.

The ACLU has fought on the side of religious groups as well as non religious groups in the past.  While I don't always agree with what they're doing, and especially not with the ideas of those they defend, their purpose is to defend people's right to say controvercial things, among others.  The ACLU is not an atheist organization bent on the destruction of religion.

They are bent on the suppression of all religions but socialism/communism.

Thats a particularly ignorant statement. It took me all of 30 seconds to find cases where they upheld the rights of the religious.

I said all religions and I agree that's wrong. They are mostly focused on shutting up the fundamental Christians.
