BSG ... wow

I heard that Ron Moore was really looking forward to having the set space back, dunno about costs.

I sure hope Apollo gutted the Pegasus of everything valuable before going to New Caprica.  The Pegasus represented huge manufacturing capability, had a large store of spare parts, lots of weaponry, etc.  Too bad they couldn't have transferred flags to it instead.

We'd be calling the show BSP then. ;)

At least it wasn't the Battlestar Unicorn.

Here are some story milestones/predictions:
* Fleet picks up a refugee ship that has turned cannibal.
* Count Iblis - An alien character from the first series, perhaps not alien this time but instead a different AI from the Cylon era)
* Robotic Cylon attack dogs are used (which ends up being the mechanism to get Boxey his pet when they capture and reprogram/convert one)
* Baltar gets his own personal troop carrier (but converted to a flying pleasure palace)

Quite true!

One of the most dynamic and involving Sci-Fi shows for me has always been Firefox, the show they made the movie Serenity from.  Too bad the original series was never shown in order, in its entirety.  It was shown on Friday nights by Fox, and pre-empted by baseball games.

Lots of subplots and humor, often revolving around government control and manipulation of the masses.

Wish Sci-Fi channel would grab it and run with it like they have with BSG!

That's the problem.. the 350mb versions may be HD rips but they're not HD quality.

I've heard rumours of 700mb versions that supposedly are HD quality.

Either way when veiwing 41 minute show in DIVX AVI format 300mb is normal i guess.  700mb is overkill as you wouldn't notice a difference on a computer monitor let alone a TV using the S-Video out on your card.

Decent quality is achieved with a file  of around half that.  If you convert it to MPG4 for DVD the size nearly doubles so I think I know where you are getting at but I'm not talking about mpegs.

Overall, BSG was the series I looked forward to seeing the most. It's now 2nd behind Heroes for me.

Did the Pegasus ever make a return in the original series after its "fate unkown" encounter with the Basestars?

And why is Firefly not rerun on SciFi? I saw the movie but never an episode.

They do firefly reruns on scifi.  They occasionally have marathons, too.

You could just buy the DVD's... they're worth it.  :)

I'm pretty sure the original series Pegasus went bye bye. Dunno for sure, I don't really watch the reruns of the old series and I don't remember what happened when I watched it as a kid.

Yup... Lloyd Bridges was too aggressive and took it in too close to a Base Star... Kablooie.
