Roach looks like no one is interested in your argument. So far the game works in this way. You belong to the minority. Your monthly fee is not considered so important. Then quit, I mean really delete your account you and your whole squad, take some months of relax, wait and see.

In the meantime, learn how to dress yourself like a nice cheerleader. Then you'll be able, better it'll be easier, to attack other players without getting edited ;)

While the forum isn't about "mockery and piss taking", many of the users have a low tolerance for "pissing and moaning". Especially, when those types of threads are started ad nauseum. As for the early '90s...you obviously were using a different net. These forums are light compared to the flame wars of the early '90s. :D

Roach...

Nothing personal, but, if you had bothered to check, multiple threads like this one have been started in the last month. That is part of the reason you recieved such a negative reaction to your post. BTW, you might wanna apologize to Skuzzy. Skuzzy is HTC's tech support guru and he moderates these boards...should he take offense......(can you say "BBS Nuke"?) :D

Where I find fault with what you are saying, Major Biggles, is how you suggest this game is governed by a totalitarian regime.  I do not believe this is the case.  I am optimistic and I believe that the developers do make modifications based on customer suggestions.  The more voices, the more likely the change.  Furthermore, they are in the business of generating revenue.  This is something I understand as a business owner myself.  I listen to my customers and I am very respectful when communicating with them.  Satisfied customers are paying customers.  Finally, I have been advised by many veteran players that the developers are open minded and do consider suggestions. I also find fault with your rudeness.  You could state your opinion with some degree of courtesy, taking into account that your second post was an improvement.

Captain Virgil Hilts, I am a devoted Steve McQueen fan and would hate to be insulted by someone bearing an avatar of his likeness, or that from one of my favorite all time movies, The Great Escape.

Moneyguy, where I attended school, although it has been many years ago, we learned the difference between a simile and metaphor.  My accusation to those of guilt is that they are very rude.  Perhaps you could use an English refresher course.  Being "like" a child is not "being" a child, and many of the responses to my post are indeed very childish, or as though posted by someone immature and of youth.

roach, HTC make LOADS of changes to the game purely on user input. they've been spending weeks putting in things to help people find their squad and to be able to message them across the arenas.

do you really think they would spend that much time, instead of just switching it back, if they weren't serius about the arena change. they want it like it is now, it isn't going to change...

lots of guys have complained, just like you did, but it doesn't change a thing, the arena changes are necessary for the game in the long run, and they might as well change it now when they piss 1000 people off, than do it later and piss 10000 people off.

HTC is the most incredible company, they're entirely dedicated to the game, and their customer service is just incomparable (you call their office they'll drop everything that they're doing to help you).

you need to trust them

it's easy enough to find your squad dude, i can explain it to you if you don't know how. once you know where they are you can go to the arena with the lower cap, do something short like base defence or GV'ing, then log out after 5 minsutes and try and get into the other arena again (you can usually get a space, lots of people log out)

the change has been a great change for me, i love the fights and pilots that i'm coming across now. if the only thing you don't like is not being with your squad, just try a little harder to get in with them, or get some of them to come to you, and you'll have a blast (try the midwar together, still plenty of planes but not as many people, you can have some great fun in there :)

Huh, dozens of complaints from virtually new posters in the BB and the same 15 resident clowns here to belittle them all.

Roach, might I suggest you call all squadmates into whichever arena is taking new numbers instead of trying to squeeze into the full one. It seems to work for 4thFG and we can get as many as 8 or 9 online together on rare occaisions.

First off, I've yet to see Early or Mid war arena's reach their  cap. So if your having trouble getting your squad together. Just head to either of those for a change. You might just find it refreshing.

Second, HTC has a long long history of drastic sweeping changes with little or no notice. The last big one before this was the whole joystick setup/mapping tools. This one ticked ME off, because I used it daily teaching new people how to setup joysticks. So I walked away, took a break, disconnected the emotional response.

Came back a few months later to realize that while I may not like it as well as the old one, it does do more for more people, and as such it was a needed change.

Roach sir, same thing with this change. While you may be upset, unhappy, and PO'd right now, walk away for a few months. When you come back you too will realize that this change does more for more people, its a needed change. And its NEVER going to go back to the way it was.

Once you can accept that, you can see that everyone who is complaining about the issue is beating a dead horse. Your beating your head against the wall saying change this or I won't quit. The problem is no one cares if you beat your head against the wall. Your just going to beat your brains out.

Its a dead issue, this is the way it is, it won't change back. Its deal with it or leave time. THATS why your getting so much sarcasm from all the regulars.

There simply are more options, both as a squadron, and a single player. More options is a good thing long term for the game.

If you still have concerns that you feel have not been addressed by all means call Dale.  Best bet I've found is to catch him around 10 am central time. He's usually there and isn't buried in code up to his ears yet. Be respectful, remember its HIS sandbox we are playing in. And he's been doing this a LONG LONG time.

EW, MW and LW  is a good idea. Kind of a rolling plane set.

Though it looks like 2 LWs don't work better than 1, numbers wise.

But: it's reasonable that HTC let it be like it is now for some tours to get reliable data.

I bet that we'll end up with 1 EW, 1 MW and 1 LW at Xmas.

:)

roach...if you and mr nogame really play this game even...

You want people to be respectful yet.... it is a game where the gameplay was so bad that one hell of a lot of people here were sick of it and thought it was a slum...

Now...you come on and say that you want to return to that slum where your (and 20-100 of your closest internet friends) style of gameplay will still have the abiltility to ruin gameplay for all these people again... you pout and threaten to hold your breath till you turn blue if you can't go back to what is essentialy... bad behavior.

Now you expect us to not mess with you?  We are glad you can't ruin gameplay as much or as easily...  biggles is excellent in fighters he has offered to help.  Take him up on it... buy a joystick... get an account and try the game even... both you and nogame get an account even and try to get into the spirit of things.

Lazs,

I have had an account, 2 of them at one point (1 was a gift to my brother in Texas) for 5 years.  People are here saying they want to stay.  Say what you will but one of the major selling points when marketing this game was the MASSIVE multiplayer aspect.

There are thousands of players in this game who are in Squadrons who actually work TOGETHER and enjoy gameplay that way going all the way back to the early days of AirWarrior.  (I have been in an online squadron since the DOS OS - Red Baron 1 on ImagiNation Network) Your answer seems to be that we need to leave the game.  We do not want that but it could happen... there are options Sir.  Perhaps if all of the larger (so-called toolshedders) squadrons left the game maybe it would leave a nice quiet arena for you and the fellow furballers to just play with yourselves.

Lazs, here is a hint though... You can only say that a certain number of $15/month subscriptions are meaningless.  At some point, their impact will be felt.

An alternate hypothesis is that there are dozens of posts from shade accounts that deserved to be belittled :D
