Just a quick question, what is the down time on acks now and does hitting strat effect that down time ?

Yup it's muderous lol, best thing for a long time,as you say.

Additional question -
Do barracks stay down any longer now?
Do hitting strats affect down time?

Ack is good:aok  I think it adds alot of realism that  was missing before. I also think it satifies alot of the Toolshedding/Furball gripes. It now takes a very concerted/corrdinated effort to bring down a base. So in that respect all the strat guys will have to re-think it. The changes are very good nice Job Hitech:)

Yup its good, but please don't compare it to "adding realism".

Realism -
1) 95% of Me-163 pilot deaths were not combat related - How would like it if your newly rolled 163 exploded on you (thats realism)
2) Perfect planes - No random failures or even failures common to specifc types.
3) Perfect days - No rain, fog etc
4) In flight dar map - Better than GPS
5) Some early planes didn't have air-air comms - We have it all the time
6) No night
7) 25k+ astronauts - Without any effects from flying at that altitutude (yup I know effects happen lower)
8) Perfect planes 2 - Some of the late LW planes were delivered in real poor build quality, even missing gauges in some instances.
9) Perfect planes 3 - Some that came off the production line (all sides) were just plain dogs, they underperformed.

etc etc etc.

Overall a good patch if it weren't for the mini-freezes and invisible trees/hills

Ummm this is what us BOPs did befor and we got griped at for it....   The only change I see hapening for our missions is maybe puting in a few better deacking planes in with the town blasters..  110's, Mossies, A20's and such I think are going to make a HUGE target for all that ACK.  The ack does make it more exciting when your caping a base though, now instead of "Theres one out of the hanger and theres on on the runway"  We can add OH crap 5 ACK just poped on the SE corner!!! :)
From the ashes of the old we rise to fly again. Behold The Phoenix Wing!

Wow,

All that's needed now is to harden the ack and buildings, make the ack and building recover time near zero, and you have the fixins for a fighter town arena!  Not that anyone would want that, but it's a possibility.  Just to clarify, a fighter town arena has fields that can't be captured.

Flying around in bombers is allowed along with GV battles and of course fighters, but you can't capture (or even really damage) a base.  In other words, an arena only for fighting.  Who would think up such a thing?

Malta

it always has

standard downtime is 15minutes (i think?)

and hitting there factories makes them resupply slower. if the factory is only at 50%, the resupply train/trucks will only be 50% full, meaning it will take double the amount of resupply train/trucks to fix the field.

at least thats the way i think it works..... its been along time since i read about the strat system. But thats why i bomb it daily, and fight in primetime.

the same for the major city.... its supplys HQ, and all strat factories. City is my first target, getting that below 50% before hitting the other factories is my main goal. Its why im flying lancs during the day, and 303rd B17s once my squadies come on Lancs hitting the cities is realistic :D

As the our fellow Bish know and alot of the unfortunate enemies that fly over our fields us LTAR's have got a thing called the Pain Train. When called on every LTAR lines up on the runway in Osti's. Very cool thing to see now with the addition of more ack= Double the Terror. Good luck Vultures!

After the patch yesterday was one of the first back online. This is what I saw. 1 F4U downed by field ack, 1 190 down by town ack, 1 P38 down by field ack. So funny.

I think it's called the dualing arena and the most I've ever seen in it was in it over the last few years is 15.

He may be, I have no way of knowing and must take his statements at face value, however, I think he accurately represented the opinion of the majority of the furballers.

I've always wondered why the furballers even bother with any  arena other then the dualing arena.  I'd think that the dualing arena would be full 24/7 with all the harping about the need for one Vs one fights.  But the lack of numbers in the dualing arena would seem to indicate otherwise.
