I wanted to add on to what the "linked thread" regarding the "Purple Heart".   He (N+numbers) came under fire for turning down a PH.  

Now, in WWII my grandfather was carrying his dead buddy ashore (out of boot camp) on Guam.   Under fire he was wounded, the Lt. wanted "recommend" him for a medal.   My grandfather told him to shove the medal, and later regretted it, as it would have allowed him to return home 6 months earlier, via the "Points system."

My question, are these two cases similar?    Is it different once the "paperwork" has gone through?

I can, but that is because I have read your posts in quite a few of these types of threads, and so can easily translate from "Toad" into english.  For example...


"Wow. Made for TV movie stuff!

To someone else this quote might seem pretty innocuous, but if I translate...
