Dropping troops to game the game

Its 1 thing to dropped troops trying to capture base in mass, than to drop troops over a cv  so suiciders can strafe or drop over a field for sole purpose to deack. This defeats the new ack Hitech put in game to increase game play. So i guy can't deack large or med field alone and vulch.

Not knocking Doom but his favortie thing to do use to be grab 190a5 deack base wait for newbies to up. He wasn't alone I've deacked base in secs  sat there got more to come in unmolested and take base. Hitech put more ack in some found way to circumvent this by gameing game, when you drop troops on field or over cv you are only doing it to to keep auto ack busy. troops were made to take maprooms and towns. Were never invision to keep auto ack busy. I said bishops because that is only side i've seen use this. When I came back to game couple months ago i had a friend on bishops tell me about new ack and how to defeat this. Didn't say he was using it but said some do, monday was 3rd time i have seen this used.

I'm not homosexual, but don't let that discourage you; I'm sure there are many gay men out there who'd love your company. The rest of the post wasn't worth commenting.

Very interesting.

I've noticed people were dropping paratroopers on the field a lot lately, but I've always thought it was a result of a poorly informed newbie trying his hand out in a goon run.

I've known that theoretically paratroopers could be used as an ack decoy.

The AA AI seems to set priority to the closest hostile target within vicinity, and will not stop shooting at it until either the target is destroyed, or another closer target presents itself. For some reason the AAs have difficulties in shooting down troopers, and therefore if a goon drop is made onto a field with its defenses up, the AAs will be concentrated on an unsuccessful attempt to destroy the paratroopers.

I've seen a lot of corny gaming-the-gaming stuff, but most of them did not walk over the lines of being plain silly and hilarious - such as "carbombing". However, a goon drop with its sole purpose aimed at distracting the ack certainly seems low. Personally, I'd consider it a degenerate behavior of the witless Borg buffoons in their quest for mindless assimilation of land, without taking the proper steps of capture.

If indeed such a goon drop happens intentionally, then the fact that it may be prevented, or how easy it may be to kill goons, is in principle irrelevant to the matter at hand. What's important is that a certain part of gameplay is being intentionally abused, in an attempt to do away with certain steps required for base capture which needs cooperative effort, a bit of skill, luck, and perserverance on part of the would-be conquerors.

It may not be a serious game-breaker by itself, but it certainly is enough to cause disdain and discontent among the people who try to do things legitimately by playing the base-capture routing according to the implied rules. In essence, this behavior rewards the clueless dolts, and penalizes the innocent, and therefore must be corrected.

Competition often draws out the most distasteful of people, but to think such things would happen in AH is disappointing.

Dear Hitech;

I don't want to be bothered with shooting down goons approaching my airfield whether they be in air or on land. These dirty tricksters are gaming your game, so I feel you should be VERY concerned. Please coad YOUR game so that goons blow up automatically when dirty tricksters up them.

PS; please blow up SHawk as well.

Thx!

 Seems like a good idea.

Since there are tards who don't want to be bothered with taking the time and effort to actually deack the field properly, I think they don't deserve any better than to get their goons automatically blown up within 5 mile radius of the field if the field acks are up.

Not sure of blowing up SHawk though.

Hmm similar.

In your original post you want us to believe they used mass troop drop as an historical AAA decoy. Note the the topic of the thread.
Then in the next sentence berate the game fore using 10 troops to take a map room.

Here is a hint for ya.
If you have a problem with 10 troops taking a map room. Start a thread about that topic.

This thread is about the use of troops as decoys so tardlings can have less risk.

Your first sentence leads me to believe you think it's perfectly acceptable to use troops as AAA fodder. So you can fly in with less risk.

Thus me calling you a tard.

I knew it!  Storky you just can't pass up an opportunity to blame something else on the BOP's can ya?  You have painted us as the cause of everything wrong with the game for the last couple months.  Get off our frigging backs will ya?  Let me prescribe ya a help.  Take two valiums and a few beers and don't call us in the morning.  It wasn't the Bops that did that and I've seen it done to us Bish and I really don't have a problem with it, just more troops to shoot.  As usual on this one Storky, you are just plain WRONG!  Now run along and play with your transformers and leave us alone.

All the Best... hehehe

I have read many dumb threads....but this one is making my eyes hurt:D

for any of the "gaminess" to occur someone has to fly a defenseless slow big plane from one base to another....this seems enough of a deterrent for me...

i for one would like to endorse this thought process in the rooks and knits warbook!!!!  i am drooling as i ponder the idea of this on rook text:

Rook1: hey guys lets go vulch a9
Rook2: great ill grab a goon...
Rook3: ill bring one too...
Rook1: cool...ill wait til you get 10k to go in..i guess ill take drop tanks and 100% fuel
Rook2: outstanding
Rook3: so lets rendevouz at the base (a9)  in 45 minutes
Rook1: hah they wont know what hit them!
Shawk (private text): you see that guys..lets follow them in and vulch while those troops are dropping
Storch: Hah...i cant wait...that will teach those BoPs a lesson...hah
Storch: wait 45 minutes not good...my AMWAY nail polish wont be dry..
Shawk: Huh?
Storch: oh nm boyfriend ack....bbl
