No they look great.

The new terrain seems like it was rushed out before completed.

I see a whole lot of potential in it but right now it does seem like a featureless cartoon when flying from the air at anything above 2-3K.

The level of detail that is possible is great, but the overall terrain is featureless.

Looks like the terrain was still being worked on but was rushed out.

I flew and tried out the sherman last night for a couple of hours. No headache from flying but a slight headache when in gvs in tank town. I found myself squinting. I'm not sure why though.

Overall I like it because I see it has a lot of potential, but it needs work.

the terrain sucks! It is plain... it doesn't stand out anymore... you cant fly thru tree's anymore because there isn't anymore spacing but just blots.... so thatsn -1 on being able to survive while someone is on ur six....and i went on offline play 2 test sherman... that isbloody ridiculous.... you can kill a tiger on the tracks! and a t34 cant do squat... i sat there for 15 minutes hitting it with a t34 n just saw stuff flying grab a sherman pop it goes... panzer... nada. The only thing i like is how the ack is surounded by somewhat of a hill making it a tiny bit harder to hit and also the enhanced visibility of runways from far away.. Other than tree's..... i think they are overly green... they look like army camouflaged green color it is like you turned gamma all the way down and tried to fly. I really appreciated the old patch, and i am hoping they resolve all this and at least try to get the same tree's in as before

Been playing offline a lot until i get my new internet connection up and running and so far i love it!  Are there moinor things?  Sure, but trees look ike *GASP* TREES!  NOT 4 sided aluminum trees from Charlie Brown's christmas.

I would like to see more variation, but with the major changes we have just seen maybe the complainers need to try building new terrains that utilize the new tools HTC has given us.

I never could figure out how those farmers built their houses on the 75 degree slopes near TT. How do you keep your sheep from rolling downhill, or your beer mug from sliding off the bar??

So, my $.02, build terrains around the new graphics and i bet that the issues that people are seeing will go away...

On level ground, if I'm drunk enough, I can't stand up or walk straight. Guess I better go to a 75 degree bar then, and see if that helps.

No actually. But thats just my system/graphics/monitor ect. To me it looks crisp and lifelike. No darkness, contrast, or washout problems. I was even surprised to fly by a windmill that had the blades turning.

Hope those who are having problems get it worked out though just the same.

I had no problems with the terrain being too dark. No problem at all. That leads me to think the problem is settings on some machines. It is darker than before in colour terms but more realistic (I think). The trees are superb and I just flew NOE right down in the weeds slipping in between the trees with no problem. Then got chased on the deck by a crowd of marauding rooks and for the first time ever didn't fly into the ground. Got shot down all the same.:(

I do agree that at altitude it all looked a little bland but at altitude who needs detail?  Also you do have to be quite low sometimes to see the contouring and the ground detail lacks something. Perhaps the new trees meant a slight loss elsewhere? However when it comes to contouring, in real life only the biggest hills stand out at even quite low altitudes. It is realistic for the countryside to appear flatter from altitude. If you get to fly in a real aircraft it is quite noticeable.

I do like the new terrain, even the quirky windmills and the little villages and farms. One odd thing though as I drove into one village, there was a little wooden wagon in the yard. It stopped my mighty Sherman dead in it's tracks! Surely some mistake?

I also think the terrain is more 'European' in looks which after all is where all the action happened. The previous terrain looked a lot like parts of the USA. To me it looks like part of the low countries or Northern Germany now. which is good.

No I don't want the terrain changed, improved yes, perhaps a tad more contrast to aid depth perception in the grassy areas.

I tweaked a few things in the Nvidia desktop manager - vibrance, contrast and gamma and everything got much better. There's still a small problem with depth perception and I agree that the terrain needs a little more detail. The latter will help the depth perception. Overall I like the changes with the noted exceptions which I'm sure will get addressed/fixed in the coming days.

I did the same.  I got it to the point where AH looked good (well, acceptable anyway), but everything else (like my desktop) looked like garbage.

Then I remembered there is a hi-res patch that I never bothered to download because I knew my previous card couldn't handle it.  I downloaded it, and I saw an instant improvement in everything.

I was then able to make my desktop look good again, and the game still looked much better than it was before.

Real test to come tonight when I can play for an extended stretch of time, but I think the hi-res patch basically fixed my issues.  I wonder if those who are still having trouble have the hi-res patch?

(Then again, since I didn't use the hi-res patch before, it still may be comparatavely cruddy to what people are used to.)

well.......i know a lot of you here are pilots........but this in the middle of the day is absolutley NOTHING like what the ground looks like in reality. its way too dark. there's zero depth perception. i've flown at night in reality too...only about 15 hours, but i've done it......

on a positive note........the moon is absolutley incredible:lol
