First off, who says they're going to run an election next time?

Could have been a 1-off thing.

I think the P-80 would be great.   It's just as reasonable as having a 262.   You perk it the same way you do the 262 and when you get in the mood to fly a jet, you'd have a choice between a P-80 or a 262.  What's wrong with that?  Plus, P-80 vrs 262 scenarios would be great fun too.

I suspect however that we've seen the last of the "community vote."

It did enter service in 1944 so it is not too much of a stretch.

I see your point though.  :aok

They used the Meteor agains V-1 flying bombs. So technically, yes, it saw action, and shot down axis aircraft.

P.S. I vote for a built-in spellchecker for the BBS. :rofl

you are correct but since AH dose not have the V-1,the meteor would be usless and not alot of them were build during 1944

Moot point, Vans.

The Meteor would be a 450+ mph ride with 4-20mm's...I think it would see quite a bit of usage.

Wether or not we have the V-1 is irrelevant, we have plenty of airplanes in here being used against something they weren't origanally supposed to(Typh's against B-17's, for example.) Or, Divebombing with Lancs:rolleyes: .

Meteor Mk IIIs were in full squadron service service and saw combat on the continent in 1945.  Mostly ground attack, but one dogfight with Fw190s that was interupted.

The P-80 was never in squadron service in WWII.  There were a grand total of, IIRC, four sent to Europe for the squads there to have a looksee with, but not one was used in offesive or defensive action.   Meteor Mk Is and Mk IIIs were used in both and at a squadron level.
