Question for the masses
« on: June 28, 2007, 06:44:29 AM »
Last night I logged on just after the Bish captured A45.     The Knights decided to send  GV's to hit the town and try for a quick recapture.    I upped an IL2 and  headed for the Knights spawn point.   While flying to the spawn point I noticed a Bish C47 ahead of me.    Just as we neared the spawn point I watched the C47 drop vehicle supplies damn near on top of several Knight Osti's.   Well the Osti's shot the C47 down but not before he managed to drop supplies for them.   I made a few passes got a kill and an assist but got hit in the engine.  I reupped again and saw another C47. I told the goon driver I saw him drop supplies to the Knight GV's and I was going to record his sortie.   TO my utter amazement the same Goon driver dropped another load of Vehicle supplies right on top of the Knights spawn point!  Of course I was recording this and told the goon driver I was recording.   All of the Bish that were defending A45 town also saw him drop supplies.   Kev367,Shukes,and many others were there and witnessed this.

My question is this:  Is that cheating?  Its lame as hell I know that, but outright supplying the enemy?    Is it even worth sending the film in to HTC?   What would really happen anyways?

I'm not sure if I should post the guys name?  Seems like I'm tattle telling if I rat him out even thou he changed countrys just to resupply his GV buddies.

Thanks for any thoughts fellas       SEstud

It's no worse than a Rook pilot defending a Bishop base a week or so ago.

It's something I've seen far too often, but something I've learned to live with.

Don't post names.

Just send it in.  (Athough I don't know if HTC considers it cheating or not).

It is lame though, and it's probably up to HTC to fix this, by making supplies country-specific.

Then it would be no fun hiding at an enemy spawn point stealing all their supplies

Well, generally I don't see any bad in it.

Last week I did such a thing in MW. Bish had 4 or 5 players on. After I foiled a capture of a rook field (I was rook at that time and the only one online), they instantly turned they attention to Knights, which had NO players online that moment.

So my options were:
- Waiting for another attack which would never come as long as I'm online.
- Flying to Bish bases, but busy as they were they wouldn't have upped.
- Switching to Knit side. But they would just had switched their efforts back to Rook vehicle base.
- Or flying to where the "fight" is.

I choose the latter and got some interesting responses on channel 1 after shooting down several goons & heavy fighters. :D

My question is this: Is that cheating?

First, you must point us to the hard copy official AH "rules" of the game to determine if it truely is "cheating".

For example, the official "rules" of chess state (in hardcopy) that the "bishop" can ONLY move on the diagonal ... trying to move your "bishop" in any other direction would be "cheating".

As other have pointed out ... It's totally "lame" and you should divulge the name(s) of those that pull this kind of crap ... they need to be outted, exposed, and humiliated for their lame acts.

Definitely not a rules violation, because there are no rules. I would, however, tell us who the little goober was, because that kind of thing helps us prioritize targets. ;)

Yer it's lame.  These guys cracked the rocket science to game the game.  Probably kids being errr kids.

There are features that can be exploited but if the "lame" player hasn't got the gumption to understand how stupid  they are none of us is going to convince him of this.  They will consistently "game" or find other exploits like shooting their squaddies.  It's not the first time this has happened and it's not going to be the last.

As much as I don't condone their action what I found really funny and equally stupid was a Bish player swapped sides to knights to kill said "gamer",  doing the Gv resupply.

I ask ya ffs.  Don't drop to their level because they'll beat you with their experience.

The Vet Bish guy that changed from Bish to knight was out squeeked by the "gamey" squeeker who then changed from Bish back to knight.  Leaving the Bish's hero stuck as a Knight for a hour :rofl

A bucket of cold water was seen and dually poured on the vets ethos of "fighting fire with fire"......how sad.

It was me who swapped to kill him.

Wasn't too bad actually, after he swapped back -

I upped a 262 with Whels to intercept a Rook mission and got two kills out of it.

Whats lame about his actions - As a Bish there was nothing we could do, cant shoot him down.
He was dropping supps far enough behind that for the most part the Bish GV'ers couldn't grab them.

So the only logical course left was to change to Knit and try to get him.
After he swapped back I made sure for my remaining 36 mins as a Knit that the Bish knew where he was, maybe teach him a lesson.

No it didn't - hours later he was back Bish doing it again.

His name for those who asked -
VVI10

Just yet another example of a game feature being introduced to help the community being abused by a small number of players.

Maybe another example why the time limit NEEDS to be upped again.

Lynx - As you think it was so 'sad' to change sides to stop him doing it, what would you have done to stop him?
Sorry when he's dropping off supps so the disabled Knits GVs can continue to 'kill' squaddies and mates something had to be done, can't ignore it.

Well, I did my part, I shot him down once during that mess. As I was coming in to shoot him with my 262 I recall somebody on range saying "don't shot him yet, he's dropping supplies for us"

Well, At first I thought he was dropping them for enemy GVs and that our guys could steal them, so I popped his wing anyways. Then I realized the enemy GV were further away. Was kinda glad I popped him.

They want supplies they can bring their own, dadgummit! We had an airfield and a vehicle field on that island, plenty of opportunity to bring our own supplies!.

P.S. I mean knits can bring other knits supplies, GVers don't have to get their own, but it should be a knit. Any enemy is fair game before he ever drops. Period.
