Yesterday (July 10) we saw a snake in our yard about 2 1/2 ft long and our dogs wanted out so i  got the 22 and got it on the 2nd shot here are some pics


this is when it was still alive


heres 2 after i got it

Looks like a regular old bull snake.....should have let that one live. Not poisonous and they're good for keeping rats and mice under control.

You would have been better off taking a long handle shovel, picking it up and tossing it back in the trees or something.

Quick, get that thing to McFarland so he and he papaw can doctor it up and rehabilitate it.  They might need it to ward off attacking felines!   :lol

That's a Timber Rattlesnake, dark form, Crotalus horridus, appears to have had part of its rattle broken off. A rather harmless snake, the bite usually swells the immediate area, which goes away in a few weeks, usually two. An antivenom is available, but is usually more dangerous than the snake. In other words, should of left it alive to kill rats and mice. And no, I'm not starting a company. Snakes belong outdoors, where they can control the pest populations.
