Who is defending Craig?

I have tolerance for all people, as long as they are good.  But I'm going to repeat something my brother told me:

"It should make a man sick to his stomach to even think about having sex with another man."

I think they are both sick, but defending him is definitely disgusting thing.

Again, who is defending Craig?

I haven't seen anyone defending him; he got the bum's rush out of the Senate and I haven't heard anyone crying over that.

I have seen some double standard action though from the other side of the aisle, as usual.

By the other side you must mean the hetero side. I didn't see the bums rush given to Senator Vitter. But all he did was visit prostitutes... lucky for him they were chicks.

Being gay isn't illegal. Much to the consternation of the republican party who would like to make the whole Country "moral" christians.

I think your issue was that Craig was a hypocrite. You're OK with him being a homosexual; no need to resign for that, correct?

Are there none of those hypocrites on the Dem side of the aisle? Are you calling for all hypocrites to resign immediately or not?

Because if you're cool with some hypocrites staying then you'd have to be cool with Craig staying as well. Otherwise, the aforementioned double standard is in evidence once again.

So you think he should resign simply because he is a homosexual?

Really?

I don't think he sould resign at all. I'm still fuzzy on what exactly he did that was so terrible.

I probably wouldn't vote for a queer.  But if there was a queer in office, I'd expect him to be open about it.  Actually, not just queers, but anyone who's got something they feel they need to hide.  Otherwise they could be placing keeping their own secrets above the best interest of their constituents.  Once it's out in the open, nothing to ping, ding or blackmail them on and it becomes a mute point.  Then they can just do their dang job & move on.

There was a mayoral election in Dallas recently and one of the candidates was liberal and gay. The non gay guy won with the districts voting as I expected, north conservative, south liberal, with the exception of one area north of the trinity river. I looked at the voting map and thought, what the heck? Then I remembered, oh yeah, that's the area in north Dallas that is predominantly gay. Do you think most people vote based on their own self interest or what's best for everyone? In the long term these are the same but the short term may appear otherwise.
