I could not agree more.  The more you piss off the other guy, the easier it is to kill him.  One of the first things you learn in any combat training (US Ranger school, martial arts training, etc).  Break the other guys' concentration, and boom, easy to kill all night long.  These are the guys who will get pissed, and try to up from a capped field/camped spawn 20+ times.  And, boy, are they fun to kil:lol

In the meantime, I am still looking for the cartoon honor code.

6'1", 210lbs    - BMI = 28 kg/m2

Eat more carrots, you will a) loose weight; b) sharpen your vision thus improving SA on landing.

This is the exact reason people kill planes landing, so they get get someone upset.  This trap has been used on many occasions to rile up an opposing player and it seems that it has worked in your case.

There are no rules anywhere that state that just because your plane looks like it might be landing that you should have a free pass.  Your plane is red to everyone else not on your country and therefore fair game.

This has happened to most vets and will happen again at some point most certainly.  Get over it and up a new plane, after all you have unlimited lives for only $14.95 a month.  Enjoy it.   :)

I play this game as a combat simulation, so I enjoy those aspects of the game that best reflect reality.  Therefore, attacking enemy planes upon landing is fair to me.

I will do so if I have the chance, but I rarely get the opportunity because it means I'm:

A: Alone at an enemy airfield
B: Nobody at that airfield is paying any attention to me

I must also say that I'm astonished that anybody would have a problem with the method of succeeding at air combat, i.e. "HOing."  If you think it's cheap, don't fly directly toward an incoming plane.

lol. But on the subject, yes. Vulchin on takeoff is one thing. Its acceptable, as it helps to take the base. But if a plane is landing, he is LEAVING COMBAT, and thus is removing himself from the list of threats without you having to do anything. While it was practiced in WWII, that was because killing an Me-262 STOPPED that plane from taking off again. Not so in AH. Which means there really is no purpose to attacking a landing aircraft.

what your talking about is a code of honor I havent seen in a very very VERY long time.
Certainly a time that predates this game.

I remember a time when there was such an unwritten code.
When yea you wouldnt vulch those landing.
When if your opponent called out "Bingo ammo" you would give them a "good fight" and let them go land
When if you saw a 1V1 fight you would stay out of it and let the two duke it out by themselves.
And so on and so forth.

Sadly. Those days are long gone.
Its the rare bird you dont see shooting HO anymore

I still prefer not to. But now as soon as I see tracers flying, All bets are off.
But admitedly against certain typse of planes because of their reputation I am now more likely to fire first.
I'd leave a 1 V1 that way if every time I was in one every enemy con within a specs range didnt join in on me whenever I was in one.
Against landing/taking off aircraft.
I'll shoot at whatever happens to be in my immediate glidepath that will get me in and out of the area without the newfangled feild lazers that everyone likes to hide in now getting me.

I do miss and long for the old "code" though.
Sadly its gone forever and you just have to play with the hand now dealt

Let me say on record (although I do not practice it as much anymore) that vulching on take-off is fair game and a necessary evil when capturing a base.  Let's make this clear: Vulching somebody when they are landing is quite obvious, blatant and cowardly.

HOers (you know who you are) on the other hand can rest assure that they have the luxury of defending themselves against allegations on channel 200 by stating the  "it was not a HO" or "i had a gun solution on you by 15 degrees." This perpetrates more 200 trash talk and the eventual "DA?" in which the HOer will 90% decline as some HOers would find a way to have their pencil shaped heads lifted in the air as they have gotten the winning edge on an argument and convining themselves they have enough "game" among the best pilots here in AHII.

Such action by HOers (especially by high ranking pilots) are truley misrepresentation of their true nature of having little game and only makes veterans such as myself (210lbs, 6'1'', 4th year out of southern cal) begin to question the authenticity of the victors skill.

I try very carefuly in a duel in the MA not to HO even if I have a gun-solution on my adversary.  Sometimes this backfires as his resuers gang-rape me or my advesary performs a brilliant reversal upon me and I am downed. <> to those who can do that.

So in retrospect, from the range of 1-10 (10 being absolute losers), please tell me who is truley the bottom feeders of AHII.

My Vote:
Vulchers (on landing); 9+
HOers; 8

I am not voting 10 since somebody may make an argument that there is something worse than these 2 types of players (hard to imagine).

I've never had any objections vulching people.  Many times have i chased someone back to their base and vulched them on landing.  It is not uncommon for someone to make a pass or two and haul back to their base once it dawns on them that he may no longer have have super mega E advantage anymore.  It gives me great pleasure to vulch people on landing.:)

hoing doesn't bother me either, though comlaining about it on 200 when it blatantly wasn't does.  In my first week back i got a barrage of abuse on ch200 about a Ho despite not opening fire on the merge and killing him with a dead 6 shot.  I was however expecting a whine about something, he always exploded on ch1 when i shot him down years ago, it was amusing that he still does it now.:D

Actually it's more fun if they don't wish to be shot - isn't a fight all about that?

You nailed it on the head, a code of honor.  I know it is unreasonable to expect all to abide by that, but at least I have the pleasure to call out those that do that it is pretty scummy doing so.

AH is designed to be a game and to be played as a game.

We tend to see ourselves as noble knights of the sky; our wives, kids, co-workers and friends, however, see us as computer dorks who play “airplane”.

They are right you know.
Although it is a silly game, I'm not ashamed to admit that I like to play airplane.  It must be downright embarrassing, however, to explain to someone in the real world how there's this "code of honor" in a game that's all about blowing as many planes and people to smithereens as possible.  If you ever get upset while playing an online war-game, there must be something wrong.  If you don't laugh every time you play, there must be something wrong.

So, let's see who can kill raider, (Choose one: unethically/dishonourably), most often.
