My favorite line in the article, "Opponents feel the city's policy of only accepting a Texas driver's license or ID card as proof of identification will harm illegal immigrants and promote deportation. "

The move is the latest form of protest against the city's criminal alien program. The program allows federal immigration agents access to the jail to determine the residency status of prisoners.

Poor Babies!!!!

Yeah, the criminal illegals are the ones everyone wants to keep around.

Jebus......... every time I think there is no limit to the stupidity........
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Seems that stupid begets stupid at times. That is about as rediculous a reason for a boycot as I have ever seen.

Good example of silly. The law should apply to everyone equally. Civil rights activists fought for that for years. Some of these protesters need a crash course in both the history of civil rights and law. Wait, I believe they may be getting the practical course now. ;)

the more of these outlandish stories, the more I think real America is going to wake up and say "get these wastes of oxygen out of here"... and then come to vote in candidates who are anti-illegals (mainly republicans)

hey I can hope ;) :aok
I don't know what to put here yet.

What do I have to do in order to get them to boycott farmers branch too?  Think we can get them to boycott San Diego?  It would sure cut down on crime and traffic...  The last time they boycotted calif, traffic was the lightest it had been in about 20 years.  I wish they'd do that more often.

Good to remember, Mark. Sometimes the momentum gets out of hand lashing back at the overzealous protesters. :)

yes, i know...fighting for independence from mexico.

i am not a racist, nor am i opposed in any way to immigration.  i am opposed to the flouting of the law and order by all parties concerned.  i am opposed to the costs that we are having to pay.

we are all responsible for the problem...but i blame employers and politicians more than anyone.

there should be order.  and i think that we should have a broader view of who we are bringing in and why.  skilled labor particularly.

i can't even begin to tell you the troubles we have had here over the past two years in our once quiet neighborhood on a nice little dirt road on a bayou in florida.  perhaps it has tainted my view...but i have attempted to keep an open mind...but when i see mounds of trash piling out of thier yard...well.  it's hard.

they have had up to 13 living in a 3 bedroom house across the street.  the house that mrs. 88's great grandfather built.

i have to wade through it everyday to get to my studio.

needless to say, i have stood up to them.  even when they have threatened me.  they have done this often.

i was even attacked once.  he lost.

i won't be afraid...and i am slowly pressing them into normalcy (while researching every possible avenue to have them removed.)

i digress.

That would be the fight, yes. If you think about it, same as it is today for many. ;)
