That's not surprising given the number of possible aircraft choices vs the number of possible vehicle choices.  Just to pick a Spit XVI then also run into another one is a statistically much smaller probability than picking a Panzer and running into another one (I know, I know, the XVI is popular).

Stats can also be skewed to make a case for whatever your argument is, so I did a serch of Spit XVI vs all models and Panzer vs all models.  In this search Spits = 24,910 while Panzers = 59,051 (kills by only), barely a 2:1 advantage for the Panzer vs. your example at almost 20:1.  By extension, if the numbers were similar among the 78 available aircraft and the 10 available vehicles, the numbers would come to Airplanes = 1,942,980 vs Vehicles = 590,510, almost 4:1 in favor of aircraft (again, I know, the Spit is popular but so is the Panzer).

Maybe someone has the time to do each of the vehicle searches and back them out of the all vs all search.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Well, there are many more planes than GV in game. The Panzer is basically the bread & butter tank of AH2, while you have a much broader choice in planes.

At this moment, kills & deaths in current tour are distributed as follows:

Fighters (58 models): 636K
Vehicle & Boats (12 models): 316K - (Panzer IV has 40% of all GV kills&deaths!)
Bombers(18 models): 121K

now now fellas you know this game is nothing about the Air Craft or the Ground Vehicles. ITS ALL ABOUT THE SHEEP HTC PLEASE SEND BETTER LOOKING SHEEP.

ok for real tho. everyone knows this is not all about the Air Combat any more. anyone that isnt affraid to gv for 5 minutes knows that. alot of us vets like to keep seeing Aces High as a Flight Sim only. sorry fellas Aces High has grown. so get use to it.

if you cant gv so what. if you cant fly so what. spend your 15 bucks a month the way you want to and let others be.

Chrish if you would like to see more GVs in this game, there is a forum called Wish List post it there or you can email support@hitechcreations.com and they will look into it.

Who says they don't?

It is probably less common because of the nature of the fight.  GV fights tend to be more bar room brawl than fencing match.  You don't generally win a GV fight by wowing your opponent with a good maneuver.  You won't duel with a GV opponent for 5 minutes and throw a salute afterwards like you might in an airplane.  On the contrary -- you often die without ever seeing your opponent first -- and I don't know very may pilots who throw salutes for getting "cherry picked."

That being said, the "lone gunman" on the edge of town that single-handedly holds off your assault for 15 minutes before being overwhelmed will most certainly get an afterwards (as long as the VH is down :lol).

To the topic at hand, there is no comparison to the GV game in AH that I have encountered.  Vehicles in WWIIOL, BF1942, etc. etc. are actually sideshows to the infantry war.  AH has no infantry war, so the vehicles are front and center.  HiTech's little "sideshow" outshines the others IMO.

I would love to see more variety in the ground war, especially some EW and MW variants . . . but I won't hold my breath.

I have to agree with Kilz on this one.  Received plenty of salutes from the LTARS, given a few too.

Haven't had a single negative run in with an LTAR yet...  (well once, when he topped out an immel right in front of me.  I gave him a face full...  but who wouldn't?)

Couple things...there is a reason for all the different choices we have
for vehicles...they are there to be used.  I fail to see what difference it
makes to the great unwashed mob which ones you choose.

GV's are an integral part of the game (notice "game", and not flight sim) and are enjoyed by hundreds if not thousands of the player base.

In fact all of the top ranked players spend a lot of time in GV's, now I find this a particularly strange fact. I wonder why this is ?

Even Lynx spent over 21 hours in GV's this tour, and he apparently hates them ;)

I LOVE GVing

I can't count the times I've run into a base with my Little Red M8 Corvette, knocked out all ords and all ack to set up a base for a brutal onslaught before anyone could get up to kill me.

And smacking a B-25 right in the face with an HE round before it can get a tight bead gets me all tingly inside.  Ooo...I got goosebumps just thinking about it!
