That's not surprising given the number of possible aircraft choices vs the number of possible vehicle choices. Just to pick a Spit XVI then also run into another one is a statistically much smaller probability than picking a Panzer and running into another one (I know, I know, the XVI is popular).
Stats can also be skewed to make a case for whatever your argument is, so I did a serch of Spit XVI vs all models and Panzer vs all models. In this search Spits = 24,910 while Panzers = 59,051 (kills by only), barely a 2:1 advantage for the Panzer vs. your example at almost 20:1. By extension, if the numbers were similar among the 78 available aircraft and the 10 available vehicles, the numbers would come to Airplanes = 1,942,980 vs Vehicles = 590,510, almost 4:1 in favor of aircraft (again, I know, the Spit is popular but so is the Panzer).
Maybe someone has the time to do each of the vehicle searches and back them out of the all vs all search.
