If the democrats were smart they would give lots of money to paul so that he could steal votes from the republicans.. he could get as high as 5 or six percent of the republican vote.   No democrats would vote for him of course.. it is like nader..  no republicans vote for that windbag but they love to see him in the race stealing votes from democrats.

The guys who vote for nader and paul will of course be all upset and depressed at not only how few followed their lead but..  at what a POS got elected because of it.

Actually I know of quite a few Democrats who dont  like hillary or Obama who said they would have voted for Paul And still would.
I personally only know of one Democrat Hillary supporter.
Though I know quite a few Republican Hillary supporters whom I have no doubt whatsoever will vote Hillary given the chance.
All of which are by the way. Women.

I like Ron Paul but think he is wrong on his "Blowback" theory..The cause of Islamic Facism is not our fight against it.

yep.. I hate to say it but you guys missed the obvious.   paul had his shot..  he didn't even come close.   If he can't even make a half way decent showing with the people who are most likely to vote for him (republicans) in the primaries...

Why would you waste your vote on him in the elections and be one of the 5 or six percent of disgruntled republicans who waste their vote on a proven loser in the elections?

Your choice is between osamabama and mc cain and that is the long and short of it.

I voted for paul in the primaries.. he lost...  big time...   if he is a big enough osamabama supporter to run in the election then he will win it for osamabama but.. he will not get more than 5%

You can point to all the articles in the world about how great he is and what a great message and how he is getting support.. ya all did that already.. I listened to how he really really, honest.. had a chance in the primaries.. he raised some money.. he had some interviews..  he got slaughtered in a weak field full of fed up people.

go ahead and vote for him if you like.. I would prefer it was nader that was getting the attention but...

Please don't come on here and whine when osamabama appoints a whole crapload of fruitcake judges and taxes the crap out of you and encourages a whole bunch of anti gun legeslation that he will rubber stamp.

I get a chance to vote for Paul twice -- free of charge -- as long as Obama is the candidate if he's still somehow on the ballot in Nov. If not than that new libertarian chap. I kinda bet Illinois is an Obama state...

Lazs get the same ride in Calif. I bet. Obama would carry Calif. by what percent of the vote I wonder... 80?

As an aside, the best thing about any Obama win in Nov. is that he would finally be out of our hair :)

McCain's choices for judges wouldn't be much different than Obama's. McCain is no conservative and certainly not a libertarian.

toad.. you may be right..  everything that both of them has said may be a total lie about who they would appoint for judges but...

McCain at least says he will appoint ones that uphold the constitution..  osamabama says he wants ones that will change it to fit liberal socialist principles that he holds.

I think that ted kennedy would appoint the exact same judges osamabama would.

Laz,

Have you really researched McCain? Yeah, he's technically a Republican but he's a far cry from a conservative.

He would probably appoint slightly better judges than Obama but he might not. McCain is no friend of the 2nd and as you and I have discussed the 2nd is pretty much the bellwether for other issues of liberty and freedom. Check out what Lott has to say about McCain http://www.gunowners.org/mclott.htm

In your case a vote for McCain is a total waste. We all know Kali will go for whatever Democrat is on the ticket..done deal, blue state. Obama or Hillary wins in a walk against McCain.

You might as well tell the Republicans they have to run someone that really is conservative it they want your support.

You do realize that you just told me to vote for McCain because my vote doesn't count in kalifornia anyway right?

I do agree on that but there is no way that I would want to have osamabama pick judges over McCain..

You are not saying that you believe that there is no difference are you?  Perhaps a simple look at both of their voting records would be helpful.   Ol McCain is no conservative but he isn't a total socialist like osamabama who, along with the current crop of liberal democrats would make a great pack of villans in an Ayn Rand novel.

No, I said your vote for McCain is a waste and only encourages the gone-astray Republicans. Vote for Paul and tell them to find a real conservative next time. :)

McCain is better than Obama in the same way a fully formed turd is better than diarrhea; they are both still crap though.

Hillary or Obama have Kali in their pocket; you can afford to speak your mind this time. It's not going to be close at all.

I wait until the last minute and check the polls to see who is ahead and then vote for them so I can feel like a winner.

Obama will undoubtedly take the left coast, as well as some of the more populous states in the north and northeastern seaboard.  However, his brand of liberalism has never played well in the heartland or the South, and no president has been elected in recent decades without carrying them.

Charon, be careful what you wish for;  you may get it.   ;)  I felt the same way about Clinton when he was governor of Arkansas and running for president.  If he became president, I thought, at least he would be out of our hair.

I was wrong.  Boy, was I wrong.  Had he remained in Arkansas, at least the damage would have been contained.

Obama as president would be disastrous for the courts, civil liberties, and for taxpayers.  If elected, and if he has coattails, he and a liberal Congress would, quite literally, run naked through the streets throwing tax-money at all-the-sundry.  The definitions for 'hate crimes' and 'hate speech' would be greatly expanded, and the first and second amendments would come under an attack unlike anything seen in the past.  The push for 'reparations' will no longer be a joke.  Our foreign policy will be based on good feelings, Danegeld, smiles, and gossamer wings and fairy dust.  Iraq will be left swinging in the wind, and Israel will be cut loose and left to the tender mercies of its enemies.

These things could cause such a backlash that the Dems will be swept from office in the Congressional elections of 2010.  Yet, that isn't a given, for, sadly enough, many Americans would support some of these policies.
