Really now? Which part? The F4U muting? I've got a witness. I was winging with uss113 in P-47D-11s at the time. Or the noodle post? That one has a witness too, McWatt. Or the "Pissed off" statement? Ive got a pair of squadies who witnessed that, I know because I immidiately itched at them about it. So really, which witness shall I call foreward?

The text filter warns for the first f4u + k. It does not mute you until the second time you attempt to type it. Also, the K is required in order to trip the text filter- there is no warning issued for "Ive got an f4u right in front of me". As to your witnesses, they would not see the warnings you got either from a mod, or the automated text filter, and they certainly wouldn't be able to receive further text from you if you were muted as you claim to be. That's something of a glaring error in your little story. Also, there's not much to complain about when a mod warns you for being a PITA. That's what they're supposed to do, whether or not they are able to deal with every PITA, every time.

Care to fabricate any additional details that might make this little yarn even somewhat believable? Perhaps start another thread complaining not that the filters and mods are too strict, but rather too lenient?

Oops, I see you're a step ahead of me.

The last time I got muted was for threatening to knife the next person who sent me a popup. What bs!!!11!  It took about 1 second.  :lol

When looking at text autofiltering, remember that in addition to looking for specific words it also scans for letter combinations that appear when letters, punctuation and spaces are ignored.

The classic example actually showed up years ago, when somebody posted that they were muted for typing:

"Check F4U-1C 1K!"

it's obvious that this is a sop to f4u drivers.  Players will now be afraid to call out their positions to countrymen allowing the sneaky !#%!%!%'s to pop you like a grape.  So which one of you waggle wings sent the bribe in?  Be honest now?

I'd think if you were typing, you'd not take the time to write out "Check F4U-1C 1K!"

"Hog 1K" is a whole lot quicker :)

Really now? And yet it happened. Does HTC keep a log of who gets auto-muted for what?

Yes. If you can tell Skuzzy the date and time, he can round up the text. Provided it wasn't too long ago.

BTW, that is the best reason for contacting HTC in these matters instead of posting here.  :)

Oooh, they don't keep the records very long? Alright.. Ill try to dig up my films and see if I caught it on there somehow. This was a while ago, and I didn't think to mention it then because only one instance wasn't worth complaining about.

..."records"....they don't keep "records"', per se. They do have text logs. Which is why they need date and time info.

Alright, here is one that REALLY ticked me off. I was in the middle of a fight, I didn't have my mic plugged in at the time, so I had to type. So, I open the text buffer, and on room, type "Ive got an F4U right in front of me". Instant mute!!! If you're going to call a plane an F4U, don't mute people for typing it! On a similar topic, I got a waring for telling someone "If listening to me on 200 pisses you off so much, just squelch me", whereas there are almost no visible results for someone who fills the text buffer with the word "noodle" over and over again. Mods a bit biased? Yeah, I'm whining. Just doesn't seem right to me.

Do you have film of this incident?
