FF stands for First Fighter Group out of Langley AFB, just outside of Washington DC.

Well if you want to consider Hampton Virginia "just outside of Washington DC"......OK. It's about 180 miles or so from DC.

That is bronze coating on the canopy. Helps with sun glare and microwave energy. Cars that have that coating like the Lincoln Mark series have problems with radar detectors not detecting police radar through the windshield.
Like I said Buzzard, it's gold. I'm pretty sure TEXSTAR still makes canopies for the guys in Fort Worth. They did when I worked on the F-16. If you're curious, research the HAVE GLASS program.

You're right about the car windshields. The coating has the same effect on police radars... bad for your detector.

The location of the green patch forward of the canopy suggests it's one of the 30+ antennas for the AN/ALR-94 Passive Receiver System. In fact, I'd say all the green patches in the photos are antennas for this system. Sorry, no cloaking device, death ray projector, etc. I could be a soft ice cream dispenser though.

This should entertain you guys:

this one may be set up for time travel. when they're tsargeted, the computer registers it, and activates the flux capacitor located just in front of the canopy, which emits a charge out of the wing ports. the pilot then warps around onto the six of the bogie, faster than a spixteen, and shoots him down. he then has to listen on 200 to all the cheater accusations :D :rofl :noid

Actually stealth fighters fight much the same way that submarines have for decades.... passively.

At a guess, antenna array is covered. Would guess it's phased array ..they dont want yas to see distance and spacing.

.. no idea why they would cover wing leading edges unless to prevent damage to material from sand, bugs, etc.

Active System is phased array. That's part of the passive system. And it's not the leading edge, it's a narrow strip behind the LE flaps.

Where the green is on the LE it almost looks as if the aircraft has slats extended, which would bring me to think it's some sort of primer and that panel may well be a new part awaiting finishing.

Here's a shot of the AN/APG-77 active system Grayeagle, because you get it.

1500 transceivers making the beam steerable within tens of nanoseconds. Pretty Slick :aok

The green patches are some of the antennas for the AN/ALR-94 passive system.

GE, back in your Wild Weasel days, did you ever work with EF-111's? I did some work with those when I was fresh out of school.
