Yeah I meant the green patches too..

That might be something they put on to block out some kind of sensitive data-such as what unit this plane's assigned to, or maybe some kind of aperture or port that is classified...?

I don't think so. That's an operational fighter out of Langley. It's highly unlikely they'd be carrying out a materials test. Actually, it looks like the protective film used on new parts prior to painting, but that doesn't explain the weird reflectivity in the photo.
Bodhi, did the green patches look that bright in person?

Langley? Thats Ft Walton Beach! (I think)... Pensacola runs tests on these planes all the time. I have sent them many a CADD Tech... of course they never speak of such things...  :noid

I see. I see these planes all the time all over the panhandle down south. I think between Dothan and Panama City and also out over the ocean the Raptors are always doing some sort of exercise or another. I know someone that does comms training at Eglin that can get me pretty close to the planes but I dont know how close. Its not a P51 so I have never cared.  :D

My only answer to that would be that there's some kind of special new something there...Maybe, a system that pumps ionized gas over the wings, defeating radar waves??? I don't know.

It's a protective film cover for a commercial decal.  Probably STP, M&M's, or Midas.

That is bronze coating on the canopy. Helps with sun glare and microwave energy. Cars that have that coating like the Lincoln Mark series have problems with radar detectors not detecting police radar through the windshield.

I don't think it would be Pensacola, since thats a navy  Aviation installation, and somewhat west of Ft Walton Beach.

You probably mean Eglin AFB. big test center, and Ft Walton Beach is right outside the gate.

Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.
