It's not just the "night" itself, but the "dawn" and "dusk" times of the virtual day. The period of "low visibility" is far too long.
Granted, some people can turn up monitor brightness and turn OFF the lights in their computer room to compensate, but doesn't that defeat the purpose of flying by night?? Perhaps these individuals don't so much like night itself, as they crave the artifical advantage it gives them over many opponents.
