Wail, if ya read this very thread there's a fast and easy solution (heck it's even on this page of the thread!)

Right click the AH shortcut icon, go to properties, and set it to run in Win98 compatibility mode. Then try it.

Vista has the same problem as XP does, but AMD has not issued a patch for Vista.  They have one for XP and it does fix the issue.

For Vista, you just have to run the game in Windows 98 compatibility mode which forces the game to run on one CPU.

This problem also exists on all laptop versions of dual-core CPU's from AMD and Intel.

There is nothing we can do to fix this short of dropping threading support.

You're saying that if I remove the tempPerfEnable file out of bootini my troubles would have been over? Wow, I've had many many problems with screen freezes. I've done everything that Skuzzy posted 10 times except remove that part of the bootini. Now I have installed windows 2000 because it seemed a last resort.

Im Having the same problem with the cilp board i have recently received a new dell D620 centrino duo vid card is the infamous intel,
i can play not laike rabbit that locks up but is anoyng to see the clip board darken and moving like a prop in running xp pro 32

I've had spinning clip board and solved it by right click on AH desktop shortcut , click "properties" then "compatibility" tick box and change compatibility to "windows98/ME.

AMD X2 cpu and nvidia motherboard, Geforce9800 gfx card, had to run the AMD dual core optimizer to fix spinning clipboard. Added another 9800 card for SLI, spinning clipboard bug is back.  I do have the /usepmtimer flag, but changed AH to run in 98 compatibility mode instead.. problem solved.
