Congrats and hope you get fast jets. I would have thought there were better odds in the RAF for that though. The RAF stream only their creamies into Harriers so it's a tough gig to get to fly them. A friend is an ex RAF Harrier pilot. He is one of the best pilots I ever met. If you make it onto Harriers you will be one of the best.
I tried for the RN and the RAF. In the end never even got an interview because I wasn't born in Britain despite the fact that many Irish served as pilots over the years, including my friend mentioned above. Ironically it's the fault of the Americans who now insist on only the highest possible security clearance for personnel using US hardware or software. You can't get that if you're anything but British born. Oh well

What's really ironic is that the rule doesn't apply in the USA. As long as you are a citizen you can apply for aircrew in the US military.
