kick bellybutton Turn and burn planes for 1.09
« on: October 17, 2001, 10:04:00 AM »
its clear by the usage of primarily the spit9 and n1k2 tht a vast majority of players in Aces High are very fond of flying a competant turn fighter instead of a fast E fighter or B&z machine. this is evidenced by the fact that the hurri2c is actually a pretty damn good airplane in the AH arena in a furball. in 1.09 HTC needs to add more good turn fighters to attempt to decrease the monopoly the spit and n1k2 have on this area of dogfighting and usage.

airplanes such as

Ki84
ki44
f4f4
p40
a6m3-22
a6m3-32
a6m2

and even 109e4

stuff that turns great and has great guns

I didnt add the ki43 to the list seeing as how the c202 gets no use the ki43 would suffer similar cannon envy problems

I'd fly Ki43, and/or F4F-3.

Whichever I get first. I don't need cannons, those are for guys with small members..

Brewster Buffalo, A36 Apache and The B pony with the GOOD engine.

And now that the Mossie is here, how about a level bomber version of it with a bombsight..

AND the A26A Invader, give all the buff jocks wet dreams.  :D

If we get them and you're flying Knight, I'll wing with you in the Wildcat.  I might actually not suck by then!   :D

Respectfully,

No few planes, let's cure the ones we got.  Glass-tailed P-38, etc etc.

Thank you

Sounds good Citabria.
Ki-44 will turn about like a 190 though.
But I still want it.   :)

ki100 would be a good one, a modification of the already added ki61 wiht a new nose/canopy and paint etc

ki43 with cannon option would be very good if any  significant number existed
perhaps ki43 II or ki43 III?

the early zeks, especially the a6m3-22 would turn much better than the spit5 and better than the heavy and armored a6m5 but would be easy to set on fire

Fester, I don't believe any Ki43 had cannons.

The last model I know of- Ki43IIb- had 2x12.7mm MGs mounted in the nose. Not sure of the ammo load out.

If you know that there were cannon armed models, which model was it? It must of been a III model, but I really don't know.

Also, the IIb is a pretty quick aircraft (speed wise). It's faster than the A6M5b we have right now.

About the best pure "Turn and Burn" plane left is the Ki-100.

But I don't think it would be very popular due to its very low max speed(360mph). Its basically slower and heavier wing loaded (ie generally turns worse) than its predecessor, the earlier Ki-61-Ib that we already have.

How many Ki-61's do you see? I was actually shocked to see one in a fight yesterday, till I killed the guy and realized that he was very new.

The Two planes that would appeal to that crowd and still fit into our arena reasonably are the Ki84 and the Spit XIV.

The Ki84 would be a N1K2-J with an extra 20mph. It would be very popular, but I don't think it should be perked.

The Spit XIV, depending on whose interpretations of its abilities you believe, would range from merely very good   ;) , to having 90% of the arena population flying it. My bet is that it would be a perk plane, but maybe not.  It will definitely make all the current Spit IX fans drool and rub their hands together.

All the other planes mentioned while fun and capable in their own time periods, or scenarios/special events, but would not contribute much to the main arena.

Oh I did forget the Yak-3, but it would perform very similarly to the existing Yak-9U, and I figure very few people could tell the difference in the performance of the two.

109 e-4 or e-7

fm-2

ki-43

ki-84 or ki-100 would cause a drop the usage for the n1k2 which would suck the niki is a heap of perks flying around.
