Storm of War Update
« on: October 31, 2009, 09:33:19 AM »
It seems developers are starting to show progress and talk on forums about upcoming sim.  There were hints that byproduct may be MMO.

The wear on the leather covered gun sight pad is over-modelled  ;)

Is there finally light at the end of the SoW tunnel (trains need not apply)?  :x

Those are computer killing graphics, no doubt.

However, a flight game is only as good as its flight model and I have no confidence in Oleg's ability to get that right.  I don't doubt that he loves the subject material just like we do, his games speak to that, but having the desire and having the ability are two different things.

Still, I'll pick it up if it every comes out, just to support the cause.

Almost all of us are going to need new rigs to play SoW.  In fact, wait a year until after the release, and then buy/build a new rig.  If they do make it MMO that will be very interesting.

Here we go again, nice hijack.  There are pilots with hundreds (or even thousands) of real world hours who also play computer flight sims.  Some like AH, some like Oleg's stuff.  Get over it.

Holy Moses.   :O

Some day, some how, it will be grand to play a flight sim with graphics like that.

I'll be buying this title for sure, it would have to be something extra bloody special to tear me away from AH2 as my main game though.

Now that's what a Spitfire should look like, the cockpit of our version just doesn't do it for me.

You know... Before Oleg started in the computer game industry he made flight simulations for the Russian air force. I'm fairly confident in his abilities to get the flight modeling right.

Really?  He didn't do it with IL2...
