A-20
« on: July 19, 2010, 06:05:40 PM »
Can we have the A-20 with the 4 20mm?

Pretty please with sugar on top.  :pray

Hell, even have it as a perked loadout if need be.

It could be something I can spend some bomber perks on other than the 234.

The 234 is all you need, to spend perks on. It is good in every role. :)

When they remodel the A20 Id like to see that version added as a perked ord option. Plus the addition of the ventral gun that should be in game already.

:aok I see no reason why not.

Just keep in mind that Mossy has 4 20mm in case if you don't want to wait.

Different engines, can take more fire (I think), slower, looks different, ect...

P.S. I would probably not fly it thought but would enjoy shooting at it  :devil

If not mistaken this would be the version just like the Boston with the non rotating top gun. Also that version did not carry bombs. Make it a P70 instead more of them made plus we get the cool black skins.

More A-20Gs with 4x 20mm cannons were produced than P-70s with 4x 20mm cannons.  Only 59 P-70 were produced with the 4x 20mm cannons, P-70A-1 and later Nighthawk variants were produced with either 6 or 8 .50 caliber machine guns.

Also, the P-70 was a relative failure as a night fighter, think it only had one or two kills total throughout its entire war time service.

from wiki

"A-20G
The A-20G, delivered from February 1943, would be the most produced of all the series - 2850 were built. The glazed nose was replaced by a solid nose containing four 20 mm (.79 in) Hispano cannons and two .50 in M2 Browning machine guns, making the aircraft slightly longer than previous versions. After the first batch of 250, the unreliable cannon were replaced by more machine guns. Some had a wider fuselage to accommodate a power driven gun turret. Many A-20Gs were delivered to the Soviet Union. The powerplant was the 1,600 hp (1,200 kW) R-2600-23. US A-20Gs were used on low-level sorties in the New Guinea theatre."
