Running Win 7 64 bit. I have seen a description suggesting 512 instead of 1024 texture resolution. That makes sense since my system shows 4076 Vid Ram BUT 3gig is shared system memory leaving 1024 meg actual card memory. I turned down 1024 to 512 and the video yips seem to have gone away.hope this suggests a possible trouble area.
I had occasional crashes but a lot of screen skipping in ground, air and on CVs. Crashes seem to happen most often about the time the screen was due to skip.(yip)

OK what do you mean by 'video yips'.  Is AH crashing on you?  If not, then start a new thread...

I just see a lot of people randomly posting here every time they experience a system crash or disconnect, and it's quite obvious that a bunch of them aren't related to what you guys are looking for.

Come on people... take the time to read this thread and see if the problems you're experiencing match what they are looking for.  Don't just add a post here because your computer crashed once, or if you aren't experiencing the same symptoms... if that's the case, then send them an email... OR start a new thread.

Microsoft just released these for application compatability issues on 64 bit OS.

KB982110
KB2272691

So it's in all of our best interests to hit the send to Microsoft butten when an unrecoverable error happens with the game if the OS can catch and package it up for O'l Billy Boy. Coincidence is so messy and kind of like beleiving in UFO's but, any chance one of these addresses the current 64bit OS problem?

Is AH crashing on you?  If not, then start a new thread...

We have a new forum admin I see. You want people to start a new thread if their post isn't relevant to the current topic, yet you are doing to even more of an extreme. What need is it to tell Skuzzy about his job, how best to do it, or how we post here? If you want to pay for my ISP, my account and my computer, please, tell me where you'd like me and the rest of us to post, otherwise, keep on topic, "Oh New Self Appointed Forum Admin."

Or you could, oh I dunno... start a new post?  :aok

Last night during TT after about an hour on my screen hung and went black for about 15 seconds. Then it recovered like I had window keyed out and come back in. That slow rebuild of textures and tiles with sound back emediatly.

I posted that yesterday my auto update had downloaded two new updates from MS that addressed application compatability issues for Win7 64bit. Wonder if some AH subscribers have been pushing the button when the game crash is caught and asks if you want to send the info to MS?

I am running Win7/64 with no issues.  I have installed all critcal updates, but have not installed any optional updates since June.  My Nvidia drivers are also 1 update behind.  If you need more detailed info, let me know.  BTW, I used to have frequent CTD / whitescreens several months ago, but these have largely disappeared.

Skuzzy, any progress in fixing this issue?

I've decided to do extra hours at work until this is fixed, have mercy on me.

I haven't been crashing, but last week or so I have been having these 15+ sec lag spikes online as if the game is trying to crash but then it ends up fixing problem.  Not sure if it has to do with this or not but yeah.

The problem is the crashingis occurring in the Windows kernel.  This makes it very difficult to debug as we do not have the source code to the Windows kernel.

One thing I have discovered is Windows 7 64 bit gets pretty flaky after a crash occurs.  We have to reboot the computer in order to get it stable again.  Shades of Windows 95!

Skuzzy, thanks for continuing to work on this issue. WE ALL really appreciate it!

The instability must be what's causing my total crash after AH goes down. In the last few weeks I've been testing and I can not reproduce the crash with any program thus far. Hope you all have a break of luck getting this ironed out. We all know you're doing your best. and appreciate it.

Tonight in orange arena. Lound sounds and direct sun would cause application exceptions again. About four of them in a row after playing for 2 hours. I thought starting up my support applications like gamebooster and TrakIR along with the game as "administrator" might help. No change. If this is time based, is there a memory leak that eventualy causes loud sounds and intense sun light video to kill the game executable?

Hey Skuzzy.

have you downloaded the Windows symbol files?

http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/debugging/symbolpkg.mspx

They at least show you *where* in the kernel it crashes.
