Sorry. Forgot how touchy Americans get when they lose a war.  ;)

It's just that we haven't had as much opportunity to become de-sensitized to it as you.

Corrigidor, Battle of Bataan, Wake Is are the first 3 that pop into my head.

There is LOTS of material out there if someone really wanted to go looking.

I hear a GED is a great anti-histamine.

"You know what I want?

I want a Band of Brothers style series about the British Involvement in WW2, all the time I see Americans running and gunning raising the flag and saving the world. Just once I want to see a British infantry squad doing that."

YES!!!!!!

"would be sweet to see a movie about one of the German aces, a movie about their lives before during and after the war.   I know Hartmann sat and rotted in a Russian prison for 10 1/2 years after the war, only to return safely to his waiting wife.   if thats not a human interest story, idk what is."

Another YES!!! I'd love to see it from the 'other' side.  Soldiers, Airmen, and so on who were just doing their duty.  That would be awesome.

"we've never lost a war"

Ummmmm ... well we've come in second in a few 'police actions'  and I'm betting the vets of those called it a 'war'.  Just sayin :)

I have a couple:

Caesars conquests of Gaul: 40,000 Romans against 250,000 Gauls. Epic

The capture of U-505. (1st enemy vessel captured by the US since the War of 1812)

The attack on Scapa Flow by U-47.

The Liberation of Dachau Concentration Camp by US troops. (Nasty day and very controversial)

The Crater: Battle of Petersburg, Civil War.

Need more WWI movies. Tons of stories there.

I agree, a remake of The Battle of New Orleans would be great.

Revolutionary War movies would be great as would the Spanish American War.

With newer computer graphic technology, many of these movies are do'able.

All Quiet on the Western Front would make a really good movie as well. Joyeux Noel proved that you can make a really good World War One movie without having it centered on the fighting, but rather on the people. I'd like to see one about the Finnish Air Force and the Winter War for some good early war aircraft fighting, as well as one set during the Spanish Civil War, from either viewpoint. You know, movies about the events leading up to World War Two, because people think "The Great Depression" rather than "The Great Depression as well as a whole bunch of other stuff" when you mention the 1930's.

Avia B.534 all the way!
