This looks like a lot of fun! We are new to AH, transferred from FA and just getting the hang of things. We love to fly the B-17 and will try to help out.

If you have never flown a MOM....you're in for a real treat.

There is a purpose to the MOM, mainly fun..despite the objective :salute (which to be honest you will forget after awhile) but you will never forget MOM

This is SO true, as after the 5th or 6th wave of fighters through the formation, the only thing on your mind is. "Get to target and dump my bombs so I can GET HOME!!"

That we might drop the city to 12% and damage the other factories is mearly a bonus. Best feeling ever is nursing your last bird home and seeing that friendly strip of concrete ahead.

(Hopefully, unlike last time, that glorious landing moment won't be murdered by NoE 262's hell-bent on vulching as we form up for a survivor's picture)

I PM'd my CO Thunder Egg on this (91'st Bomb Group)...we are a B17G Unit...

Hopefully he gets on board.

Either way count me in for a 17...

Edit: No mentions whether formations will be enabled or did I miss it? Word search found no results..

Edit: If the 91'st doesn't show as a unit, I would like to fly with HighTone if possible

For this particular MoM, I'm gonna drop my usual jet dweebery and will engage you in a 190A-5  :uhoh
(facing 47M escorts, I would rate returning to base with 1 kill as an success  ;))

Remember Lusche, your success will depend on strategy and
timing rather than on raw aircraft capability.

While my preference in a controlled environment would be
to run the escorts as Razorbacks, they would be very
outclassed in the Titanic Tuesday arena and would also
suffer from a ridiculously short range.  But the planes
shouldn't make that big of a difference in this particular
battle.

Both sides of the conflict will be decided on who's strategy
is superior and who works together the best.  It's more of a
chess game than a boxing match this time.

Hopefully he gets on board.

Whenever there is a virtual squadron with the same designation
as one in the mission, I attempt to get that squad's CO to
lead the group.  Nomde and Jaxxon both command virtual squads
that are represented in the mission and have agreed to lead
the two Jug groups.

I don't think that either are ROOK but I figure that if I commanded a
virtual squadron I'd like to lead the same squadron in a big mission
if one were being put together, regardless of chess piece affinities.

Anyway, I PM'd (or emailed) Thunder Egg a week or so ago asking if he
wanted to command the 91st Bomb Group since it was part of our order of
battle but never heard back from him.  That slot has since
been filled.

Edit: No mentions whether formations will be enabled or did I miss it?
Word search found no results..

My apologies for omitting that.  It will be with formations enabled.
Once we go beyond the range of the P-47M's we'll need some extra
planes around us until we relink with them as we egress. ;)

Edit: If the 91'st doesn't show as a unit, I would like to fly with HighTone
if possible.

All of the missions are posted in the mission editor.  The 91st
will be posted as a separate mission within the operation.
After that, everyone may join whatever group they desire. :)
Just make sure you grab a slot early as I'm not sure if I'll be able
to increase the number of slots in any particular group before we launch.
I'm hoping to keep the four bomber groups balanced.

Glad to hear you're in a B-17!
General Savage says he's proud to have you!  :)

Oneway: Formations will be on. Last I knew the 91st was taking the in-mission 91st. However, I don't know how closely your CO has kept in contact with Delta.

Lusche: Those P-47M escorts will only be with us 1/2 the way. Then they run to re-fuel, re-up, and cover our exit. Your chances of returning to base with more then 1 kill may have increased.

I do have a sneaking suspicion that the willingness of our low-fuel escorts to "stick to the plan" and disengage at bingo fuel will probably be directly proportional to the amount of High-alt P-51's attacking the bombers at form-up. (as the case in [MoM5])

Cheers,

If you look at the listing above on OP post, the CO, XO are not Thunder...

I would be amazed if he does not get or take lead of the representative 91'st in this event...

Thunder is a class act and knows his business....

Either way....

You can count me in on this epic event

One more quick question:

What will the arena burn multiplier be set to?

I would assume 1.0?

This all happens in the MA. So standard MA rates apply. 2.0 burn

Delta has not put ThunderEgg in the 91st spot for the reasons he stated in his post.

Anyway, I PM'd (or emailed) Thunder Egg a week or so ago asking if he wanted to command the 91st Bomb Group since it was part of our order of battle but never heard back from him.  That slot has since been filled.

As I lead the 91st in last MoM, I had requested it again. The guys who picked my bomber group (verses the other 2) were a great bunch. Had a nice tight group and the defensive fire was diciplined. If the in-game 91st want to join into the [MoM] 91st that would not be a problem. It'll just be Myself and Hornet79 at the head however.

Its a great event regardless.
It will be an even greater event to just land!  :aok

Just a quick note to thank everyone who has registered
on the [MoM] Alert List in the past week.  I've never
seen such a brisk sign-up rate since I started the
mailing list.

For the record, this is a very seldom used list.  You
will only get 2 emails from me a month, sometimes
only one and I will NEVER give your email to anyone,
ever.

Perhaps best of all, you can unsubscribe with the click of a
mouse.  I wish other folks who manage these kinds of
things made it as easy.  :frown:

To sign up visit:
http://david.tenifer.com/aceshigh/LCA.MoM-Current.php

The sign-up form is in the right column and only has one
field to complete:  your email address.  Simple enough.  :aok
