what are you talking about INADOT?? defense is part of being in the country. when bases are taking cause 1/2 the people are furballing that the defense i am talking about. when a hoard it taking a base and noone shows up to defend it thats the defense i am talking about. or you gonna sit there and deny it doesnt happen? how about we just take the whole resetting the map out of the arena's, problem solved

Do you want everyone to just sit in the tower and watch out for enemy attacks? People take off to attack the enemy, enemy takes fighters to defend it, your country brings more fighters to defend it turns out to be a furball. During the furball one of your bases gets attacked, but everyone is already in the air fighting one battle so they can't just leave.
The only solution to this so called problem is making people sit in the tower of a video game and wait for someone to attack, this can take hours, people are not going to do it.

columbus, could you explain exactly what's wrong with our current MA?
The maps a big enough if you don't like furballs go to the other side and take bases, make a mission.

cause i am a rook for a reason, cause i dont wanna be a bish or a knight. i don't jump countries. i don't believe in country jumping. i joined the rooks to be a rook and to fight and defend and to do what i can to help the rooks.

and whats so bad about having a arena where everyone is on the same page. everyone gives there opinion but noone has actually made a point on whats so bad about having a arena where everyone wants to be a team and work towards a common goal. just a bunch of people poking a hole in someones idea cause they personally don't like it.

we already have that.. it's called special events -- fso, snapshots, sec, etc.

anyway, the rooks "won" the war in blue on sunday.. guess they weren't on the same page.

nobody's made a point?

how bout this point:

Your idea sucks.  I (and most people) want to do what we want to do at any given time while in the game.. whether it's help take a base, defend one, sit in the tower and bs on 200, furball, or dick around in a GV, etc. etc. etc..  we just aren't doing what YOU want us to do WHEN you want us to..

quit worrying about what other people are doing or not doing, and you'll be much happier, and less annoying to your countrymen.  :aok

Your very basic premise is wrong in two ways:

First, that players clearly divide into several groups, among them "furballers" and "base grabbers".
The overwhelming majority of players don't fit into any category. They do a bit of this, a bit of that, just how they feel at any given time, depending on mood & circumstances. And it's often not even clear during a sortie whuch role a player is playing now. I have taken off to protect our CV from enemy bombers and ended up "furballing" because the CV was already dead or not threatened at all. I have flown to an enemy base to furball a bit, and ended up killing the last 3 town buildings so that the landed goon pilot could run his troops. It's a totally grey area, and while leaning towards one way or another, most pilots are "grey", not black and white. The true furballers & war-winners are a minority. Just a very vocal one.

What made the MA such a success IS the sandbox mode. That (on a good day) you can do ALL at any time. You do not have do decide who or what you are. You can enter the arena and think "whats up today?". Diversity is good.

Second, that if there is a pure "war" arena, everyone will automatically work towards a common goal, and your frustrations from not getting any response will decrease.
It's far from that. You will still have a dozen generals shouting orders & insults at each other. "Attack here!" - "No, help defend here" - "Everybody join my mission"
You see this far too often in MA: half a dozen guys are frustrated because their side is getting kicked around. They agree: It's time to mount an offensive! And what happens? Everyone of them is attacking a different base while getting upset about getting no help from his team.

Hmmm....

Creating more arenas or more "you can only do this here" arenas will do nothing but create more animosity and result in fewer players in the same arena, which spells less fun for everyone.  In the end, it's HTC's business to keep the most people happy that they can, and only they know and can decide how to best achieve that while maintaining a profitable company.

And personally, whatever "country" I'm currently on will see me help defend or attack as needed.  I'll GV or fly CAP or S&D or whatever I feel like to help that side.  And if the fights dry up and I feel like switching sides, I'll either fight the third side instead of the side I just left, or I'll just go to another arena.  Score and rank mean nothing to me so I don't care where I am, as long as I can find fun fights.

so those count towards your score??

Well if you're into score, then I guess you're missing out on some of the great things this game offers:

special events -- fso, snapshots, sec, etc.

I never said you should switch countries, I said to go to the other side of the map or just to a different nearby base.

Why change if what we have now works perfectly well?

So you agree?

I agree that's the 2 premises why things need to change. i know for a fact not everyone is happy with the way game play is going on. but no one is willing to stand up and try make suggestions to make it better. people put up with it simply be cause no one wants to suggest better ways to make game play better. i didn't once suggust take all game play that currently going on to go away. i simply suggested a arena was created for people that wants to have more of a true country feeling. but you guys can't handle that you have your way and let other people have your way too. can ya? i didn't say take your way of playing away. why is that? everyone has to play yours guys way? and not the other way around?? wow.
