I turned all my firewall and virus program's off and still get the message . I'm sure this is all ready here some where but maybe some one can tell me what I'm doing wrong before I can find the answer .

If the game works fine offline, then something is blocking the games connection to the Internet.  If you have Norton installed (of McAffee), the remove the programs and see if it corrects the problem.

do you use a direct connect thru a cable/DSL modem or do yougo through a router?

try rebooting the cable/DSL modem or if you use both reboot both of them, it could possibly be the router may need a firmware update or a renewing of the lease of IP ???

hope this might be of some help to your situation... good luck

er edit: if you are getting thru to the internet, and it is only affecting your AH connection..... try making a rule / exception to allow AH thru at all times for both the software firewall, and/or thru the router ( routers have a built in firewall )

I am having the same problem."Unable to connect for version check. Please check all firewall settings". I was able to get online last year (using win XP then ) .Now using Win 7. I Disabled AVG and set Win 7 to allow Aces H thru its firewall. Still no go. DxDiag says all is well. But you mentioned:

"er edit: if you are getting thru to the internet, and it is only affecting your AH connection..... try making a rule / exception to allow AH thru at all times for both the software firewall, and/or thru the router ( routers have a built in firewall )"

how does one make a rule for the router ?
thanks

I think the router has it's on web page you go to (bring up your browser and type in http://192.168.0.0 or something like that).   You should be taken to a set of webpages where you configure the router - and one of those pages is where you add the exception.

What brand/model router do you have?

I think the default address for netgear routers is either 192.168.0.1  OR  192.168.1.1
If you type those into your browser it should attempt to load your router configeration pages. The default password is password and the default user is admin

Googling "netgear router firewall rules" or similar may help.

Have not tried that or know how .

PingPlotter is a free program you can get HERE!

Install it, open it, and then add this address 206.16.60.41 to the "address to trace" window in the upper left. # of times to trace unlimited, delay 1 second, samples to include 60. Hit the trace button and let it run for 10 minutes.

What your looking for is 0% packet lose, and an average ping time of under 200. If a lot of "red" stuff starts showing up you have internet connection issues. Take a screen shot and post the picture here for more info on it.
