How do we know he was drunk? They said his body was burned so badly it was identified by tattoos.

They dont know for sure they only know he was speeding by the brake marks and the fact he plowed through 40 feet of trees.

Thought they also said they weren't sure who was driving, couldve been my source, but thought the accident was so bad that they couldve identify who was driving

Yeah and nothing is gained by trashing someone who is dead.

That's where you're wrong.  I'm not talking about "trashing someone" I'm just talking about being truthful about who they really were.   Why do we learn about all the bad things Hitler, or Stalin did in school, if nothing is to be gained by it?  Why not just say, "Oh, they're dead now, nothing can be gained by talking about it."

I know that's an extreme example, but it holds true on a smaller scale too.  I don't know if this guy had kids, but I'd hope if he does that people are brave enough to tell those kids about their fathers failings, so that they could learn from it.  Not tell them that he was a horrible person just to be mean, but tell those kids the truth, and don't sugar-coat it;  that he did make some terrible choices, and did some horrible things, and paid the consequences.

Tell you what, if my daughter goes drinking AND speeding AND kills someone, you can call her what you want ... Il be shaking my head and say 'yep'. If she ever becomes a junkie, I ll be asking myself where did I screwed up, call her scum of the earth and I'll shake my head and say 'yep'.

I still call a cat a cat. I'd never wished for that guy to die, but I'm sure happy that he killed only one person when he did ... Murder by negligeance I suppose.

We learn about hitler and stalin in an objective way (or should be objective) where we take emotion out of it as much as possible. Like I said the mistake or bad choice is obvious and really requires no further comment.

I had a feeling you would respond like that but if that ever happend, god forbid, I doubt you would be so cavalier. It has nothing to do with blame, Blame has been dealt death is blame enough IMO.

It's an assumption, but a pretty safe one.  He posted a picture of himself and two other guys drinking in a bar earlier in the night, and then crashed right after bar time.

Some people commenting on here are CLEARLY over-compensating for a lack of humanity...don't judge him only on his love muffin career, he also did a lot of charity work and was a very respectable person.
RIP Ryan, you will be missed!
