Hope your better and flying soon.  I lost my right pinkie a few years when I crashed on a motorcycle and had it trapped between the pavement.  It actually did not cut it all the way off, just ground it down to the first knuckle.. I raced for 20 years, the last crash was the one that took my finger and it was my 47th crash.  Had plenty of injuries but by far the most painfull and the one that took the longest to recover from was that dang finger.  Man it hurt.  Had to learn to type all over again too.

OUCH!  Luckily they already have a safety device to prevent this exact sort of thing.  While the average joe might not be able to afford this, I hope it leads to lower insurance rates and fewer injuries by contractors and construction crews:

Hey ranger, sorry to hear that. On the other hand both my grandpas had missing finger parts from working in shops and mills and they seemed to manage ok. Hope it goes back on ok.
